Abstract
PT. PJL is a company that manufactures flexible plastic packaging having problems with the quality of their products which results in high complaints from customers, especially on Alu-foil standing pouch products which have 38% complaints from total complaints per January-September 2018. Research is conducted to reduce the number of defects that appear so that the level of complaints decreases and profit increases. The Six Sigma DMAIC method is applied in this study to see what are the dominant defects and improve solutions. It is known that the bag making process has a high number of defects of 4.65% and is at the sigma level of 3.18. Wrinkle defects (42.27%), setting defects (13.38%), blashing defects (9.64%), line defects (5.85%) and stretch defects (5.69%) became the dominant defects that appeared in bag making process of standing pouch Alu-foil. Wrinkle defects are then selected for improves. Using Quick-win, FMEA and Why-why analysis found a improve solution and managed to eliminate wrinkle defects to 0.00% which resulted in an increase in sigma level to 3.20 and cost savings of 10.91%. PJL merupakan perusahan yang memproduksi kemasan plastik lentur (flexible packaging) mengalami masalah pada kualitas produk mereka yang berakibat tingginya komplain dari pelanggan terutama pada produk standing pouch alu-foil yang memiliki 38% komplain dari total komplain per Januari-September 2018. Penelitian kemudian dilakukan untuk menurunkan jumlah defect yang muncul agar tingkat komplain menurun serta profit meningkat. Metode Six sigma DMAIC kemudian diterapkan pada penelitian ini untuk melihat apa saja defect yang dominan serta solusi perbaikanya. Kemudian diketahui bahwa proses bag making terdapat jumlah defect yang tinggi sebesar 4,65% dan berada pada level sigma 3,18. Defect Keriput (42,27%), defect setting (13,38%), defect blashing (9,64%), defect garis (5,85%) dan defect mulur (5,69%) menjadi defect dominan yang muncul pada proses bag making standing pouch alu-foil. Defect keriput kemudian dipilih untuk dilakukan perbaikan. Dengan menggunakan Quick-win, FMEA serta Why-why analysis ditemukan solusi perbaikan dan berhasil menghilangkan defect keriput menjadi 0,00% yang berdampak pada peningkatan level sigma menjadi 3,20 serta penghematan biaya sebesar 10,91%.
