Abstract
This study aims to find the relationship between listening to melancholy music ("Fix You" by Coldplay) and emotional regulation in early adult female of Psychology students of Mercu Buana University Jakarta. Population in this research is female college student majoring Psychology in Mercu Buana University Jakarta, which still has the status as an active student. The total ammount is 200 people, while the samples taken as many as 50 people. This research using quantitative methods with the data collection tool used as the scale. The scale consists of 2 types: Emotion Scale and Melancholy Music Scale. Based on the correlation test, it can be seen that melancholy music is not correlated with emotional regulation in early adult female of Psychology student at Mercu Buana University in West Jakarta. Based on both correlation test results, it has r 0.931> 0.005 which means no relationship between melancholic music and the regulation in early adult female emotions. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Hubungan Antara Mendengarkan Musik Melankolis (“Fix You” Karya Coldplay) dan Regulasi Emosi Pada Wanita Dewasa Awal Mahasiswi Psikologi Universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswi jurusan Psikologi Universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta yang masih memiliki status sebagai mahasiswa aktif sebanyak 200 orang. Sedangkan sampel yang diambil sebanyak 50 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, dengan alat pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah skala. Skala tersebut terdiri dari 2 jenis yaitu Skala Regulasi Emosi dan Skala Musik Melankolis. Berdasarkan pengujian korelasi dapat diketahui bahwa Musik melankolis tidak berkorelasi dengan regulasi emosi pada wanita dewasa awal mahasiswi universitas mercu buana Jakarta barat. Berdasarkan hasil uji perhitungan korelasi keduanya, memiliki r 0.931 > 0.005 yang berarti tidak ada hubungan antara musik melankolis dengan regulasi emosi wanita dewasa awal. Kata kunci: Musik Melankolis, Regulasi Emosi.
