Abstract
This drama short film design aims to explore the role and workflow of a scriptwriter in translating emotional ideas and family dynamics into a structured visual format. The short film titled Senandung Sunyi highlights the struggle of a young girl named Alya, who must serve as the primary breadwinner while caring for her older brother, Ray, who suffers from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Amid economic constraints and internal conflict, Alya leverages her singing talent to participate in a national music audition. The production workflow of this project was conducted systematically across three main phases: pre-production (ideation, research, and scriptwriting), production (monitoring the story flow on set), and post-production (adjusting scene structures with the editor). This design focuses on the application of the Three-Act Structure and script treatment to build character arcs and emotional depth within the narrative. The results demonstrate that applying the three-act structure effectively organizes conflict systematically, moving from the introduction (set-up) to the peak confrontation (confrontation), and ultimately to character maturation (resolution). This project offers a practical contribution to the application of applicable drama scriptwriting techniques. Senandung Sunyi serves not only as audio-visual entertainment but also conveys moral messages regarding resilience, acceptance of reality, and thecomplexities of family relationships. Keywords: Scriptwriting, Short Film, Family Drama, Three-Act Structure, Senandung Sunyi Perancangan karya film pendek bergenre drama ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran dan proses kerja seorang penulis naskah (scriptwriter) dalam menerjemahkan gagasan emosional dan dinamika keluarga ke dalam bentuk visual yang terstruktur. Film pendek berjudul Senandung Sunyi mengangkat kisah perjuangan seorang gadis muda bernama Alya yang harus menjadi tulang punggung keluarga demi merawat kakaknya, Ray, yang mengidap penyakit Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Di tengah keterbatasan ekonomi dan konflik batin, Alya memanfaatkan bakat bernyanyinya untuk mengikuti audisi musik nasional. Tahap perancangan karya ini dilaksanakan secara terstruktur melalui tiga tahapan utama, yaitu pra-produksi (ideation, riset, dan penyusunan skenario), produksi (pengawasan alur cerita di lapangan), serta pasca-produksi (penyesuaian struktur adegan bersama editor). Perancangan ini berfokus pada penerapan struktur tiga babak (Three-Act Structure) dan pembuatan treatment naskah untuk membangun perkembangan karakter (character arc) serta kedalaman emosional cerita. Hasil perancangan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan struktur tiga babak mampu menyusun konflik secara sistematis mulai dari pengenalan (set-up), puncak konfrontasi (confrontation), hingga pendewasaan karakter (resolution). Karya perancangan ini memberikan kontribusi praktis dalam penerapan teknik penulisan skenario drama yang aplikatif. Film Senandung Sunyi tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan audio-visual, tetapi juga menyampaikan pesan moral mengenai keteguhan hati, penerimaan realitas, serta kompleksitas hubungan keluarga.
