Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between pet attachment and subjective well-being. The subjects of this study were pet owners who had experienced pet loss in Tangerang with a total of 158 respondents. The study was conducted with a quantitative correlational approach and sampling using non-probability sampling techniques with accidental sampling techniques. The instruments used in this study were the Lexington Attachment to Pets Scale (LAPS) for the pet attachment variable and for the subjective well-being variable using The Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) and the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE). Based on data analysis using SPSS 29, the results of the study showed that there was a negative relationship between pet attachment and subjective well-being in pet owners who experienced pet loss in Tangerang. Keywords: Pet Attachment, Subjective Well-Being, Pet Loss Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pet attachment dengan subjective well-being. Subjek penelitian ini adalah pemilik hewan peliharaan yang pernah mengalami kehilangan hewan peliharaan (pet loss) di Tangerang dengan jumlah 158 responden. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik non probability sampling dengan teknik accidental sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Lexington Attachment to Pets Scale (LAPS) untuk variabel pet attachment dan untuk variabel subjective well-being menggunakan The Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) dan Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE). Berdasarkan analisis data menggunakan SPSS 29, diperoleh hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang negatif antara pet attachment dengan subjective well-being pada pemilik hewan peliharaan yang mengalami pet loss di Tangerang.
