Abstract
Music programs play an important role in the history of television, serving as a platform for musicians and connecting viewers with the latest music trends. The Jukebox show on MNC Vision's Music TV channel is a prime example of a prominent music program. However, with the development of technology and the rise of streaming platforms such as Spotify and YouTube, the way people access music has changed, resulting in a decline in the popularity of music programs on television. This study aims to determine and analyze the production management of the Jukebox event program on the MusicTV Channel at MNC Vision. This research analyzes the production management of Jukebox by using George R. Terry's communication management theory, specifically the Fact Finding and POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling) models. This research uses the post-positivism paradigm with a qualitative approach and descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of various parties involved in the production management process of the Jukebox program on MNC Vision TV Music Channel and loyal customers of Jukebox, and were equipped with documentation as secondary data. The data validity technique uses data triangulation. The research results showed that the Jukebox program implemented POAC production management well. The process from pre-production, production, to postproduction is carried out with careful planning, clear organizational structure, and thorough performance evaluation to ensure quality and effectiveness. Program musik memainkan peran penting dalam sejarah televisi, berfungsi sebagai platform bagi musisi dan menghubungkan pemirsa dengan tren musik terkini. Acara Jukebox di Channel Music TV, MNC Vision, adalah contoh utama program musik yang menonjol. Namun, dengan perkembangan teknologi dan munculnya platform streaming seperti Spotify dan YouTube, cara orang mengakses musik telah berubah, mengakibatkan penurunan popularitas program musik di televisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis manajemen produksi program acara Jukebox pada Channel MusicTV di MNC Vision. Penelitian ini menganalisis manajemen produksi Jukebox dengan menggunakan teori manajemen komunikasi George R. Terry, khususnya model Fact Finding dan POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling). Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma post-positivisme dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari berbagai pihak yang terlibat dalam proses manajemen produksi program Jukebox di Channel Musik TV MNC Vision dan Pelanggan setia dari Jukebox, dan dilengkapi dokumentasi sebagai data sekunder. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Program Jukebox menerapkan manajemen produksi POAC dengan baik. Proses mulai dari pra-produksi, produksi, hingga pasca-produksi dilakukan dengan perencanaan yang matang, struktur organisasi yang jelas, serta evaluasi kinerja yang menyeluruh untuk memastikan kualitas dan efektivitas program.
