Abstract

The development of the film industry in Indonesia is getting better. The Dirty Vote movie is one of the real proofs that managed to attract the audience’s attention. This movie tries to explain and illustrate how election fraud is designed and run in Indonesia. The emergence of this film provides good information and education for the community, especially students because of their role as agents of change and social control. This study aimed to measure the extent of exposure to the Dirty Vote film on student attitudes about election fraud at the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Mercu Buana University using the Stimulus-Organism-Response theory. This research uses the positivism paradigm, with survey research methods, quantitative approaches, and explanatory research types. There are 100 samples representing the population of students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Mercu Buana University with a sampling error of 10%. The sampling technique used nonprobability sampling with purposive sampling method. The results showed that exposure to the Dirty Vote film was strongly correlated with student attitudes about election fraud with a Pearson correlation value of 0.627 and a positive relationship direction. Then the effect of exposure to the Dirty Vote film is significant on student attitudes about election fraud, which is proven based on the significance value of 0.000 < 0.1 and t count (4,495) > t table (1.290) with a contribution value of exposure to the Dirty Vote film on student attitudes about election fraud of 39.3%. Film Dirty Vote adalah salah satu bukti nyata yang berhasil menarik perhatian khalayak. Film ini mencoba untuk menjelaskan dan menggambarkan bagaimana kecurangan Pemilihan umum didesain dan dijalankan di Indonesia. Munculnya film ini memberikan informasi dan edukasi yang baik bagi masyarakat khususnya mahasiswa karena peranya sebagai agent of change dan control social. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengukur sejauhmana Terpaan Film Dirty Vote Terhadap Sikap Mahasiswa Tentang Kecurangan Pemilu di Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Mercu Buana menggunakan teori Stimulus-OrganismeRespons. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma positivism, dengan metode penelitian survei, pendekatan kuantitatif, dan tipe penelitian eksplanatif. Terdapat 100 sampel yang mewakili populasi mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Mercu Buana dengan sampling eror 10%. Teknik penarikan sampel menggunakan nonprobability sampling dengan metode purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Terpaan Film Dirty Vote berkorelasi kuat dengan Sikap Mahasiswa Tentang Kecurangan Pemilu dengan nilai pearson correlation 0,627 dan arah hubungan positif. Lalu pengaruh Terpaan Film Dirty Vote signifikan Terhadap Sikap Mahasiswa Tentang Kecurangan Pemilu, yang terbukti berdasarkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,1 dan t hitung (4,495) > t tabel (1,290) dengan nilai kontribusi Terpaan Film Dirty Vote terhadap Sikap Mahasiswa Tentang Kecurangan Pemilu Sebesar 39,3%.
