Abstract
This research conducted the addition of HDPE plastic material and fly ash filler added to the aggregate mixture in the manufacture of AC-WC asphalt pavement. HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) plastic waste is a type of crackle plastic waste that is found as a serious problem in the DKI Jakarta area. The purpose of using HDPE plastic in AC-WC asphalt pavement mixtures in this study is to improve the quality of asphalt by knowing how much the value of Marshall characteristics in AC-WC layer asphalt mixtures using the addition of HDPE plastic waste materials and fly ash compared to normal asphalt mixtures considering the large amount of road damage in Jakarta and also to minimize plastic waste in DKI Jakarta. In addition, the addition of filler in the form of fly ash is also expected to increase the durability of the asphalt layer caused by weather or vehicle loads passing by. Thus, the problem of road damage and environmental problems that occur in DKI Jakarta can be resolved. This research uses an experimental method, namely with an experiment to get results, thus it will be seen the utilization of HDPE type plastic waste and fly ash in AC-WC asphalt layers with variations in HDPE content of 4%, 5%, and 6% against the KAO asphalt content obtained of 7.48% and fly ash content of 6.5% of the total aggregate mixture. From the results of the Marshall characteristics obtained, at the optimum asphalt content (KAO) of 7.48% with the addition of 5% HDPE plastic content and fly ash meets the standard requirements and has increased above the Marshall characteristic value of normal asphalt mixtures without the addition of HDPE and fly ash levels. The values obtained in the 5% HDPE content asphalt mixture are VMA 21.42%; VIM 5.96%; VFA 72.20%; Stability 1146.57 kg; flow 3.87 mm; and MQ 299.16 kg/mm. At 4% and 6% HDPE plastic content, there is an increase in the value of marshall characteristics but there are characteristic values that do not meet the standards, namely the VIM value of 4% HDPE content of 7.01% and the flow value at 6% HDPE content does not meet the standard of 4.57 mm. Keywords: HDPE, Marshall Characteristics, Fly Ash Penelitian ini melakukan penambahan bahan plastik HDPE dan pengisi (filler) fly ash yang ditambahkan pada campuran agregat dalam pembuatan perkerasan aspal AC-WC. Limbah plastik berjenis HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) merupakan jenis limbah plastik kresek yang banyak ditemukan sebagai masalah yang serius di daerah DKI Jakarta. Tujuan penggunaan plastik HDPE dalam campuran perkerasan aspal AC-WC dalam penelitian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan kualitas/mutu aspal dengan mengetahui seberapa besar nilai karakteristik Marshall pada campuran aspal lapis AC-WC dengan menggunakan penambahan bahan limbah plastik HDPE dan fly ash dibanding dengan campuran aspal normal mengingat banyaknya terjadi kerusakan jalan di Jakarta dan juga untuk meminimalkan sampah plastik yang ada di DKI Jakarta. Selain itu, penambahan bahan pengisi (filler) berupa fly ash juga diharapkan lebih menambah daya tahan lapis aspal yang disebabkan oleh cuaca atau beban kendaraan yang melintas. Dengan demikian, permasalahan kerusakan jalan dan permasalahan lingkungan yang terjadi di DKI Jakarta bisa dapat teratasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental yaitu dengan suatu percobaan untuk mendapatkan hasil, dengan demikian akan terlihat pemanfaatan limbah plastik jenis HDPE dan fly ash pada lapis aspal AC-WC dengan variasi kadar HDPE 4%, 5%, dan 6% terhadap kadar aspal KAO yang didapat sebesar 7,48% dan kadar fly ash 6,5% terhadap total campuran agregat. Dari hasil karakteristik Marshall yang didapatkan, pada kadar aspal optimum (KAO) 7,48% dengan penambahan kadar plastik HDPE 5% dan fly ash memenuhi syarat standar dan mengalami kenaikan diatas nilai karakteristik Marshall campuran aspal normal tanpa penambahan kadar HDPE dan fly ash. Nilai yang didapat pada campuran aspal kadar HDPE 5% yaitu VMA 21,42% ;VIM 5,96%;VFA 72,20% ;Stabilitas 1146,57 kg ;flow 3,87 mm ; dan MQ 299,16 kg/mm. Pada kadar plastik HDPE 4% dan 6% mengalami kenaikan pada nilai karakteristik marshall tetapi terdapat nilai karakteristik yang tidak memenuhi standar yaitu pada nilai VIM kadar HDPE 4% sebesar 7,01% dan nilai flow pada kadar HDPE 6% tidak memenuhi standar yaitu 4,57 mm.
