Abstract

This study focuses on the design of a interactive book specifically tailored for expatriate students in international schools in Indonesia, with the goal of introducing and teaching the traditions and culture of Central Java. The book employs a rich visual approach with digital illustrations and interactive elements, such as flip-a-flap and sticker activities, to enhance students' reading interest and understanding of local cultural material. Testing of the book's design indicated that this approach effectively makes the learning process more engaging and enjoyable for students. Feedback from students and teachers shows that this book successfully facilitates the learning of Central Java's culture in an innovative and appealing way. Penelitian ini berfokus pada perancangan buku aktivitas pelajaran yang dirancang khusus untuk siswa ekspatriat di sekolah internasional di Indonesia, dengan tujuan memperkenalkan dan mengajarkan tradisi dan budaya Jawa Tengah. Buku ini menggunakan pendekatan visual yang kaya dengan ilustrasi digital dan elemen interaktif, seperti flip-a-flap dan aktivitas menempelkan gambar, untuk meningkatkan minat baca dan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi budaya lokal. Pengujian terhadap desain buku menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan ini efektif dalam membuat proses pembelajaran lebih menarik dan menyenangkan bagi siswa. Respon dari siswa dan guru menunjukkan bahwa buku ini berhasil memfasilitasi pembelajaran budaya Jawa Tengah dengan cara yang inovatif dan menarik.
