Abstract
The Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method has become a commonly used tool for evaluate road conditions. PCI provides a comprehensive picture of quality road surface and can be used as a basis for road maintenance planning. This research is conducted on a 2 km section of Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Balikpapan City. The aim of this research is to obtain the level of road damage using the method PCI, recommendations for handling damage, and estimated repair costs done. The results obtained are that the Jalan Jenderal Sudirman section of Balikpapan City received a score the average PCI is 51.4 so it can be said to have good pavement conditions moderate value (fair). Recommendations for handling/improvements that can be implemented are based on Asphalt Roads PASER Manual, namely handling local melted asphalt and filling cracks for surface rate results of 5 – 7, local asphalt handling and hole patching for surface rate results 3 – 4. Refers to the Asphalt Roads Pavement road repair method Surface Evaluation and Rating (PASER) Manual (2002) estimates the costs required for all road repairs, namely Rp. 599,050,836 (Five Hundred and Ninety Nine Million Fifty Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty Six Rupiah). Metode Pavement Condition Index (PCI) telah menjadi alat yang umum digunakan untuk mengevaluasi kondisi jalan. PCI memberikan gambaran menyeluruh tentang kualitas permukaan jalan dan dapat digunakan sebagai dasar untuk perencanaan perawatan jalan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di ruas Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Kota Balikpapan sepanjang 2 km. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan tingkat kerusakan jalan dengan metode PCI, rekomendasi penanganan pada kerusakan, dan estimasi biaya perbaikan yang dilakukan. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu ruas Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Kota Balikpapan mendapatkan nilai PCI rata-rata sebesar 51,4 sehingga dapat dikatakan memiliki kondisi perkerasan dengan nilai sedang (fair). Rekomendasi penanganan/perbaikan yang bisa diterapkan berdasarkan Asphalt Roads PASER Manual yaitu penanganan leburan aspal setempat dan mengisi retakan untuk hasil surface rate 5 – 7, penanganan aspal setempat dan penambalan lubang untuk hasil surface rate 3 – 4. Mengacu pada metode perbaikan jalan Asphalt Roads Pavement Surface Evaluation and Rating (PASER) Manual (2002) estimasi biaya yang di perlukan untuk seluruh perbaikan jalan yaitu sebesar Rp. 599.050.836 (Lima Ratus Sembilan Puluh Sembilan Juta Lima Puluh Ribu Delapan Ratus Tiga Puluh Enam Rupiah).
