Abstract

The library is a place that functions educationally, informatively, culturally and recreationally, containing theoretical sources, but some Indonesians still consider libraries to be boring places. On this basis, it is necessary to design a library in the Mercu Buana University tower building to foster interest in reading, especially for Mercu Buana University students. This design planning is based on a study of the synergy of functions and user psychological aspects. The results of the synthesis and analysis are planning for the interior design of the Mercu Buana University library which is applied through site processing, shape and mass arrangement, spatial arrangement and other aspects that support the optimization of the function of the Mercu Buana University Library through interior studies with a Green Fresh, Modern design approach and included by elements of local Betawi culture. This application is to create local identity and character and bridge tradition with modernity. The expected results in this design can become the basis for improving and developing library facilities that are more comfortable for users, then published in the Narada FDSK UMB journal, and useful in similar designs. Keywords: Library, Betawi Culture, Modern Design Perpustakaan merupakan suatu wadah yang berfungsi secara edukatif, informatif, kultural, dan rekreatif yang berisi sumber teoritik namun sebagian masyarakat Indonesia masih menganggap perpustakaan adalah tempat yang membosankan. Atas dasar tersebut maka perlu adanya perancangan perpustakaan pada gedung tower Universitas Mercu Buana untuk menumbuhkan minat baca khususnya mahasiswa Universitas Mercu Buana. Perencanaan perancangan ini didasarkan studi sinergisitas fungsi dan aspek psikologi pengguna. Hasil dari sintesa dan analisa berupa Perencanaan rancangan interior perpustakaan Universitas Mercu Buana yang diaplikasikan melalui pengolahan site, bentuk dan tatanan massa, tatanan ruang dan aspek lain yang mendukung optimalisasi fungsi Perpustakaan Universitas Mercu Buana melalui studi interior dengan pendekatan desain Green Fresh, Modern dan disertakan oleh unsur budaya lokal Betawi. Penerapan tersebut untuk menciptakan identitas dan karakter lokal serta menjembatani tradisi dengan modernitas. Adapun hasil yang diharapkan dalam perancangan ini dapat menjadi dasar untuk perbaikan dan pengembangan sarana perpustakaan yang lebih nyaman bagi pengguna, kemudian dipublikasikan pada jurnal narada FDSK UMB, dan bermanfaat dalam perancangan sejenis.
