Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between the personality type E (Extraversion), type N (Neuroticism) and type P (psychoticism) towards Fear of Missing Out among students at SMP Sekolah Lentera Indonesia. FoMO is a feeling of fear, worry and anxiety that arises because of the notion that events, experiences or conversations experienced on social media are more satisfying as measured by the FoMO scale with the dimensions of fear, worry and anxiety. Personality is a pattern of actual or potential behavior that is determined by innate and environmental factors that are connected through functional interactions organized in a hierarchy based on the level of specificity through a personality type scale with dimensions of extraversion, neuroticism, and psychoticism. The research sample consisted of 75 samples with the criteria of Indonesian Lentera School Junior High School Students, who speak English and are active and use 3 types of social media. The data analysis method used in this study is the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique. The results showed that 1) there was a relationship between the personality type Extraversion and the Fear of Missing Out in students at SMP Sekolah Lentera Indonesia with a sig value of 0.005 <0.05 and the value of correlation 0.831 or perfect correlation, 2) there was a relationship between the personality type Neuroticism and Fear of Missing Out among students at SMP Sekolah Lentera Indonesia sig value 0.025 <0.05 and the value of correlation 0,757 or strong correlation. 3) there is a relationship between the personality type of Psychoticism and Fear of Missing Out in students at SMP Sekolah Lentera Indonesia with a sig value of 0.005 <0.05 and the value of correlation 0.723 or strong correlation. Based on the value of pearson correlation the variabel that has the most relationship on Fear of Missing Out is the type Extraversion 0.831. Keyword: FoMO, Personality Type. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Mengetahui hubungan tipe kepribadian Tipe E (Extraversion), N (Neuroticism) dan P (psychoticism) terhadap Fear of Missing Out pada pelajar di SMP Sekolah Lentera Indonesia. FoMO adalah perasaan takut, khawatir, dan cemas yang muncul karena anggapan bahwa kejadian, pengalaman atau pembicaraan yang dialami di media sosial lebih memuaskan yang diukur melalui skala FoMO dengan dimensi ketakutan, kekuatiran dan kecemasan. Kepribadian merupakan pola tingkah laku yang aktual atau potensial yang ditentukan oleh bawaan dan lingkungan yang dihubungkan melalui interaksi fungsional yang terorganisir dalam suatu hirarki berdasarkan tingkat kekhususannya melalui skala tipe kepribadian dengan tipe extraversion, neuroticism, dan psychoticism. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 75 sampel dengan kriteria Pelajar SMP Sekolah Lentera Indonesia, Berbahasa English dan Aktif dan Menggunakan 3 Jenis Media Sosial. Metode analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik korelasi Product Moment Pearson. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa 1) terdapat hubungan kepribadian tipe Extraversion terhadap Fear of Missing Out pada pelajar di SMP Sekolah Lentera Indonesia nilai sig 0.005 < 0.05 dengan nilai korelasi 0.831 atau berkorelasi sempurna, terdapat hubungan kepribadian tipe Neuroticism terhadap Fear of Missing Out pada pelajar di SMP Sekolah Lentera Indonesia nilai sig 0.025 < 0.05 dengan nilai korelasi 0.757 atau berkorelasi kuat, terdapat hubungan kepribadian tipe Psychoticism terhadap Fear of Missing Out pada pelajar di SMP Sekolah Lentera Indonesia nilai sig 0,005 < 0,05 dan nilai korelasi 0.723 atau berkolerasi kuat,. Berdasarkan nilai pearson correlation variabel yang paling berhubungan terhadap Fear of Missing Out adalah tipe Extraversion berkorelasi sempurna 0.831. Kata Kunci: FoMO, Tipe Kepribadian.
