Abstract
The construction of the Smelter Grade Alumina Refinery Project is a national strategic project located in Bukit Batu Village, Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan, which consists of 5 development areas, one of which is the Alumina plant with a land area of 40 ha. One of the utility units that will be built is a water purification plant with an area of 2.7 ha which functions as a water supplier to carry out all activities when the factory/smelter is operational. Based on the results of soil investigation in the field in the water purification plant area, it shows that the condition of subsurface profile here consists of is soft soil with an NSPT value <10 to a depth of 17 meters, so it is necessary to repair the subgrade. Soil improvement work in the utility area is divided into 2 zones. The soil improvement area that will be discussed in this final project is zone 1. The basic soil improvement method that will be used is the vacuum preloading method combined with PVD so that the compression process occurs more quickly. The calculation results show that the installation of a vacuum pump at the project location has a pressure of 101.25 kPa. Vacuum effectiveness is 80%, so the vacuum pressure is 81 kPa (equivalent to 5,4 meters of landfill height) with a combination of soil preloading as high as 2.0 m. The PVD installation pattern chosen is a square installation pattern with a distance of 1.0 m. The time required to reach a consolidation degree (U) of 90% from 29.42 years was accelerated to 25 days. Based on the results of implementation in the field, the results of monitoring settlement plate decline during the soil improvement process carried out analysis of the degree of consolidation using the Asaoka method, obtaining an average result of 97.23%, with a total settlement that occurred of 0.686 m Keywords: Vacuum Preloading, Consolidation, PVD, Soil Improvement, Asaoka Methods Pembangunan Proyek Smelter Grade Alumina Refinery merupakan salah satu proyek strategis nasional yang berlokasi di Desa Bukit Batu, Kabupaten Mempawah, Kalimantan Barat yang terdiri dari 5 area pembangunan salah satunya Alumina plant dengan luas lahan 40 ha. Salah satu unit utilitas yang akan dibangun adalah Water purification plant dengan luas 2.7 ha yang berfungsi sebagai pemasok air untuk menjalankan segala aktifitas pada saat pabrik/smelter sudah beroperasi. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian tanah di lapangan pada area water purification plant menunjukkan bahwa kondisi tanah dasar berupa tanah lunak dengan nilai NSPT<10 hingga kedalaman 17 meter, sehingga perlu dilakukan perbaikan tanah dasar. Area utilitas dalam pekerjaan perbaikan tanah dibagi menjadi 2 zona. Area perbaikan tanah yang akan dibahas pada Tugas Akhir ini adalah zona 1. Metode perbaikan tanah dasar yang akan digunakan adalah metode vacuum preloading dikombinasikan dengan PVD agar proses pemampatan terjadi lebih cepat. Dari hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa pemasangan pompa vacuum pada lokasi proyek memiliki tekanan sebesar 101,25 kPa. Efektivitas vacuum sebesar 80% maka tekanan vacuum menjadi 81 kPa (setara tinggi timbunan 5,4 m) dengan kombinasi soil preloading setinggi 2,0 m. Pola pemasangan PVD yang dipilih adalah pola pemasangan persegi dengan jarak antar PVD 1,0 m yang mampu mempercepat waktu konsolidasi 90% dari 29,42 tahun dipercepat menjadi 25 hari. Berdasarkan hasil implementasi di lapangan, hasil monitoring penurunan settlement plate selama proses perbaikan tanah dilakukan analisa derajat konsolidasi menggunakan metode Asaoka didapat hasil rata-rata sebesar 97,23%, dengan total penurunan yang terjadi sebesar 0,686 m Kata Kunci: Vacuum Preloading, Konsolidasi, PVD, Perbaikan Tanah, Metode Asaoka.
