Abstract

Based on the curriculum of the Polwan educational institution, students undergo both classroom and field training, requiring mental readiness and perseverance. Polwan graduates are expected to be immediately employable as police officers. This study aims to investigate the relationship between Grit and work readiness among the 53rd class of Polwan Enlisted Personnel Trainees. The study includes 312 respondents and employs a saturated sampling technique. The Grit scale measurement tool is based on the instrument developed by Angela Duckworth (2007). The measurement tool used for work readiness is The Work Readiness Scale (WRS) developed by Caballero et al. (2011). The correlation test results show a significant relationship with a P-value of 0.000 and a correlation coefficient of 0.339, indicating a positive correlation. The conclusion drawn from this research is that Grit and work readiness are significantly related, with higher levels of Grit corresponding to higher levels of work readiness. Keywords: Grit, work readiness, Polwan students. Berdasarkan kurikulum pendidikan sepolwan, siswa akan mengeyam Pendidikan di kelas dan fisik di lapangan. Hal ini membutuhkan kesiapan dan kegigihan mental. Lulusan sepolwan diharapkan dapat langsung bekerja sebagai anggota polisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adakah hubungan Grit dengan kesiapan kerja pada siswa Diktuk Bintara Polwan Angkatan ke-53. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 312 responden. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh, Alat ukur skala Grit adalah alat ukur dikembangkan oleh Angela Duckworth (2007) Kemudian, alat ukur yang digunakan pada skala kesiapan kerja adalah The Work Readiness Scale (WRS) yang dikembangkan oleh Caballero. et. Al (2011). Hasil uji korelasi menunjukan nilai P 0,000 dengan koofisien korelasi 0,339. Hal ini menunjukan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara kedua variable dengan arah korelasi yang searah. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah Grit dan kesiapan kerja memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan semakin tinggi Grit maka akan semakin tinggi pula kesiapan kerja.
