Abstract

Along with the advancement of technological developments today causes an increase in people's mobility in the use of the internet. It is undeniable that the internet is a mandatory necessity for Indonesian people today. The use of the internet network is not only used for the benefit of individuals but also used for business purposes. Apart from the many ISP (Internet service providers) or internet service providers that are growing rapidly and enlivening the technology market in Indonesia today, PLN ICON PLUS as a subsidiary of state-owned PT. PLN (Persero) also participated in developing its business through ICONNET products. Due to full traffic constraints on the PLN ICON plus backbone (BNG), especially for ICONNET services where the backbone is still incorporated with the corporate broadband internet network, there is a new innovation, namely VLAN-based regional segmentation (Virtual Lan) and BNG differences in each region. The hope of this new innovation is that there is a difference between the backbone and corporate services to avoid full traffic and also minimize disruptions that slow down customer speed. Keyword: Customer; ICONNET; VLAN; Backbone; Full Traffic. Seiring majunya perkembangan teknologi saat ini menyebabkan bertambahnya mobilitas masyarakat dalam penggunaan internet. Tidak dipungkiri internet adalah kebutuhan wajib bagi masyarakat Indonesia saat ini. Pemanfaatan jaringan internet tidak hanya dipakai untuk kepentingan individu melainkan juga dimanfaatkan untuk kepentingan usaha. Terlepas dari banyaknya ISP (Internet service provider) atau penyedia jasa internet yang berkembang pesat dan ikut meramaikan pasar teknologi di Indonesia saat ini, PLN ICON PLUS sebagai anak perusahaan BUMN PT. PLN (Persero) juga ikut mengembangkan bisnisnya merambah melalui produk ICONNET. Dikarenakan adanya kendala full traffic pada backbone (BNG) PLN ICON PLUS khususnya untuk layanan ICONNET yang mana backbonenya masih tergabung dengan jaringan internet broadband corporate, maka adanya inovasi baru yaitu segmentasi wilayah yang berbasis VLAN (Virtual Lan) dan perbedaan BNG setiap wilayahnya. Harapan dari inovasi baru ini adalah adanya perbedaan backbone dengan layanan corporate untuk menghindari adanya full traffic dan juga meminimalisir adanya gangguan-gangguan yang memperlambat kecepatan pelanggan.
