Abstract
In the development of the times, there are more and more ecosystem problems which are based on the lack of educational knowledge that every human being has, which makes every human being indifferent and loses awareness of the nature around him. According to the IUCN Redlist, as a result of environmental damage, as many as 76 Indonesian animal species and 127 plants are in the highest threatened status, namely Critically Endangered status, 205 animal species and 88 plant species are in the Endangered category, and 557 animal species and 256 plants are in the Vulnerable status. In educating information about natural ecosystems, children are often the main target for introducing this information. In responding to several existing environmental issues, the author designed a design using visual illustration books (encyclopedias) to convey complete information regarding Indonesian forest ecosystems and the issue of damage to forests in Indonesia. the author also designs various kinds of supporting media in the form of print media that can be used as a reminder of everyone's awareness to preserve forests in Indonesia. Keywords: Information Content, Indonesia Forests, Visual Books Pada perkembanga zaman semakin banyak masalah ekosistem yang di dasari atas kurangnya edukasi pengetahuan yang dimiliki setiap manusia, dimana hal tersebut menjadikan setiap manusia tidak peduli dan hilang kesadaran dengan alam yang ada disekitarnya. Menurut catatan IUCN Redlist, akibat kerusakan lingkungan, sebanyak 76 spesies hewan Indonesia dan 127 tumbuhan berada dalam status keterancaman tertinggi yaitu status Critically Endangered, 205 jenis hewan dan 88 jenis tumbuhan masuk kategori Endangered, dan 557 spesies hewan serta 256 tumbuhanberstatus Vulnerable. Dalam mengedukasikan suatu informasi mengenai ekosistem alam, anak anak sering kali dijadikan target utama dalam mengenalkan informasi tersebut. Dalam menanggapi beberapa isu lingkungan yang ada, penulis melakukan perancangan dengan menggunakan media buku visual ilustrasi (ensiklopedia) untuk menyampaikan sebuah informasi secara lengkap terkait ekosistem hutan indonesia serta isu kerusakan yang terjadi pada hutan di indonesia. penulis juga merancang berbagai macam media pendukung berupa media cetak yang dapat digunakan sebagai sarana pengingat atas kesadaran setiap orang untuk menjaga kelestarian hutan di indonesia.
