Abstract
This study aims to determine whether there is a correlation between social support and academic anxiety of students at Mercu Buana University, West Jakarta during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is a quantitative research whose conclusions are obtained based on the results of statistical analysis. The population in this study were students at X University in West Jakarta, the employee class with 84 respondents using the non-probability sampling technique with the accidental sampling method. The data obtained through the questionnaire method. Previously the questionnaire was tested for validity and tested for reliability first. In this study, 84 respondents were collected, with 27 male respondents and 57 female respondents. This study used the Sarafino social support scale with 43 items with a value of (α) = .908 and the Ottens academic anxiety scale with 29 items with a value of (α) = .882. The data obtained in this study using the Pearson correlation produced data in the form of a correlation of (r) - .436 with a significance value of 200 (p <0.01) so it can be concluded that there is a significant negative relationship to the variables of social support and student academic anxiety at Mercu Buana University, West Jakarta During the Covid-19 Pandemic. So it can be interpreted that the higher the social support for students, the lower the academic anxiety students have in learning during the past pandemic, the lower the student's social support, the higher the student's academic anxiety in learning during the pandemic. Keywords: social support and academic anxiet Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adakah korelasi antara dukungan sosial dengan kecemasan akademik mahasiswa di Universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta Barat Di Masa pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kuantitatif yang kesimpulannnya diperoleh berdasarkan hasil analisis statistik. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah Mahasiswa di Universitas X di Jakarta Barat kelas karyawan dengan responden 84 orang dengan teknik sampling menggunakan teknik non probability sampling metode accidental sampling. Data yang diperoleh melalui metode kuisioner. Sebelumnya kuisioner diuji validitas dan diuji reliabilitas terlebih dahulu. Pada penelitian ini terkumpul sebanyak 84 responden dengan jumlah laki laki sebanyak 27 responden dan perempuan sebanyak 57 responden. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala dukungan sosial Sarafino berjumlah 43 item dengan nilai (α) = .908 serta skala kecemasan akademik Ottens sebanyak 29 item dengan nilai (α) = .882. Data yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini dengan menggunakan korelasi Pearson menghasilkan data berupa korelasi sebesar (r) - .436 dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 200 (p<0,01) sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan pada variabel dukungan sosial dan kecemasan akademik mahasiswa di Universitas Mercu Buana Jakarta Barat Di Masa Pandemic Covid-19. Maka dapat diartikan jika semakin tinggi dukungan sosial pada mahasiswa maka, semakin rendah kecemasan akademik yang dimiliki mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran di masa pandemi lalu, semakin rendah dukungan sosial mahasiswa maka, semakin tinggi kecemasan akademik mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran di masa pandemi.
