Abstract
This research intended to know determine the effect of herding behavior and locus of control on investment decisions. The object of this research is investors in West Jakarta. The sampling technique is purposive sampling with the criteria that the respondents have an Investment Fund Account (RDI), more than 17 years old, live in West Jakarta, and invest at least once a month, with a sample of 104 investors. Data analysis in this study uses an alternative method of the application of the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) program, namely SmartPLS version 3.3.3. The first stage in this study was to test the validity of the questions of each of the following variables with their reliability. The second stage examines the relationship between herding behavior and locus of control on investment decisions. The results of this study state that the herding behavior variable has a positive and significant effect on investment decisions. Similarly, locus of control has a positive and significant effect on investment decisions. Keywords : herding behavior, locus of control, investment decisions Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh herding behavior dan locus of control terhadap keputusan investasi. Objek penelitian ini adalah para investor di Jakarta Barat. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah purposive sampling dengan kriteria responden memiliki Rekening Dana Investasi, berusia lebih dari 17 tahun, bertempat tinggal di Jakarta Barat, dan melakukan investasi minimal 1 kali dalam sebulan dengan jumlah sampel 104 investor. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode alternatif dari aplikasi program Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) yaitu SmartPLS versi 3.3.3. Tahap pertama dalam penelitian ini untuk menguji validitas pertanyaan setiap variabel berikut dengan reliabilitasnya. Tahap kedua menguji hubungan antara herding behavior dan locus of control terhadap keputusan investasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa variabel herding behavior berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan investasi. Begitu pula dengan locus of control berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan investasi. Kata kunci : herding behavior, locus of control, keputusan investasi
