Abstract
Universities that play the role of printing human resources, who are ready to enter the world of work must also improve themselves to improve performance to produce graduates who are competent, resilient, and able to adapt to the work environment. To prepare such graduates is needed a system that can introduce students to the world of work early so that graduates are expected to have a picture of the work system and all situations and competitions. The system applied by Architecture Engineering Study Program, Mercu Buana University is Profession Practice. The purpose of carrying out the practice of the profession of architecture students can know and understand the relationship between the theory of architecture with its application in the field, so that students gain insight, info, and experience about the object that will be realized in a work project during the implementation of professional practice. The results of the professional practice are 1) That in the process of work on a project in the field is required a good coordination between the owner, 2) During the construction work, it is absolutely necessary a supervision and controlling either by the owners, consultants or from the contractor itself No deviations or other obstacles are involved in the project, 3) There should be a regular review of the work plan in each job and others. Keywords: Praktik profesi, Project, dunia lapangan Perguruan tinggi yang berperan mencetak sumber daya manusia, yang siap memasuki dunia kerja harus pula membenahi diri dengan meningkatkan kinerjanya agar menghasilkan lulusan yang kompeten, tangguh, dan mampu beradaptasi dengan lingkungan kerja. Untuk mempersiapkan lulusan yang demikian diperlukan suatu sistem yang dapat memperkenalkan mahasiswa pada dunia kerja secara lebih dini sehingga lulusan diharapkan telah mempunyai gambaran tentang sistem kerja berikut segala situasi dan kompetisinya. Adapun sistem yang diterapkan oleh Program Studi Teknik Arsitektur, Universitas Mercu Buana yaitu Praktik Profesi. Tujuan melaksanakan praktik profesi mahasiswa arsitektur dapat mengetahui dan memahami hubungan antara teori arsitektur dengan penerapannya di lapangan, sehingga mahasiswa mendapatkan wawasan, info, serta pengalaman mengenai objek yang akan diwujudkan pada suatu proyek pekerjaan saat pelaksanaan praktik profesi. Hasil praktik profesi adalah 1) Bahwa dalam proses pekerjaan pada suatu proyek di lapangan sangat diperlukan adanya koordinasi yang baik antara pemilik, 2) Selama pekerjaan pembangunan, maka mutlak diperlukannya suatu pengawasan serta controlling baik itu oleh pihak pemilik, konsultan maupun dari kontraktor itu sendiri agar tidak terjadi penyimpangan-penyimpangan ataupun kendala lainnya di dalam proyek, 3) Perlu adanya peninjauan akan rencana kerja secara rutin dalam setiap pekerjaan dan lain-lain.
