Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of peer pressure and peer conformity on smartphone addiction behavior among adolescents at SMK X in West Jakarta with total sample of 205 students. The sampling technique used was stratified random sampling. The data collection method uses three scales,that is the peer pressure scale, the peer confidence scale, and the smartphone addiction scale with Likert scale model. Collected data were analyzed by simple regression test and multiple regression test. Reliability value on peer pressure scale is 0.726, peer conformity scale is 0.702, and smartphone addiction scale is 0.802. The results of this study indicate that: (1) peer pressure regression analysis shows a positive and significant effect on smartphone addiction with an R square value of 0.239 and a sig. 0.000 (P <0.05), which means that peer pressure has an effect of 23.9% on smartphone addiction behavior. (2) Peer conformity regression analysis shows a positive and significant effect on smartphone addiction with an R square value of 0.252 and a sig value. 0.000 (P <0.05), which means that peer confidence has an effect of 25.2% on smartphone addiction behavior. (3) Peer pressure and peer conformity regression analysis show a positive and significant effect on smartphone addiction with an R square value of 0.321 and a sig value. 0.000 (P <0.05), which means that the two variables have an effect of 32.1% on smartphone addiction behavior. Keyword : Peer Pressure, Peer Conformity, Smartphone Addiction, Remaja Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara peer pressure dan peer conformity terhadap perilaku smartphone addiction pada remaja di SMK X di Jakarta Barat dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 205 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah stratified random sampling. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan tiga skala yaitu skala peer pressure, skala peer confotmity, dan skala smartphone addiction dengan model skala likert. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan uji regresi sederhana dan uji regresi berganda. Nilai reliabilitas pada skala peer pressure sebesar 0.726, skala peer conformity sebesar 0.702, dan skala smartphone addiction sebesar 0.802. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) analisa regresi peer pressure menunjukkan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap smartphone addiction dengan nilai R square 0.239 dan nilai sig. 0.000 (P< 0.05) yang artinya peer pressure berngaruh sebesar 23.9% terhadap ada nya perilaku smartphone addiction. (2) Analisa regresi peer conformity menunjukkan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap smartphone addiction dengan nilai R square 0.252 dan nilai sig. 0.000 (P< 0.05) yang artinya peer conforomity berpengaruh sebesar 25.2% terhadap adanya perilaku smartphone addiction. (3) Analisa regresi peer pressure dan peer conformity menunjukkan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap smartphone addiction dengan nilai R square 0.321 dan nilai sig. 0.000 (P< 0.05) yang artinya dari kedua variabel tersebut berpengaruh sebesar 32.1% terhadap adanya perilaku smartphone addiction.
