Abstract
Penelitian dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh antara Grit dan Mindset terhadap prestatasi akademik (IPK) pada taruna mahasiswa tingkat akhir Politeknik Ilmu Pemasyarakatan di Depok Jawa Barat. Adapun alat ukur yang digunakan untuk membuktikan hipotesa penelitian yaitu konsep Grit dari Angela Lee Duckworth (2007) yang telah diujikan sebelumnya oleh Ni Luh Ayu Vivekananda (2017) yang berjumlah 18 item dengan mengukur kedua aspek dari Grit yaitu konsistensi minat (Passion) dan ketekunan usaha (Perseverance). Lalu konsep Mindset oleh (Carol Dweck, 2006) yang telah diujikan sebelumnya oleh Tessalonika Sembiring (2017) yang terdiri dari 30 item yang terdiri dari 15 item growth mindset dan 15 item fixed mindset . Alat ukur berupa kuesioner-self report yang menggunakan skala Likert dengan total item keseluruhan sebanyak 39 item. Responden pada penelitian ini adalah 135 taruna mahasiswa tingkat akhir Politeknik Ilmu Pemasyarakatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh Grit dan Mindset terhadap IPK taruna tingkat akhir sebesar 70,2%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memiliki Grit dan Mindset yang tinggi dalam mencapai tujuannya agar dapat menyelesaikan pendidikannya dengan hasil IPK yang memusakan. Kata Kunci: Grit, Mindset, Prestasi Akademik (IPK) The study was conducted to determine whether there is a relationship between Grit and Mindset on academic achievement (GPA) in final year cadets of Correctional Science Polytechnic in Depok, West Java. The measuring instrument used to prove the research hypothesis is the concept of Grit from Angela Lee Duckworth (2007) which has been tested previously by Ni Luh Ayu Vivekananda (2017) totaling 18 items by measuring the two aspects of Grit, namely consistency of interest (passion) and business persistence. (Perseverance). Then the Mindset concept by (Carol Dweck, 2006) which was tested previously by Tessalonika Sembiring (2017) which consists of 30 items consisting of 15 growth mindset items and 15 fixed mindset items. The measuring instrument is a self-report questionnaire using a Likert scale with a total of 39 items. Respondents in this study were 135 cadets at the final level of Correctional Science Polytechnic. The results showed that there was a relationship between Grit and Mindset with the final grade GPA of cadets of 70.2%. This shows that students have high Grit and Mindset in achieving their goals in order to complete their education with a destructive GPA. Keywords: Grit, Mindset, Academic Performance
