Abstract
This pluralistic Indonesian state will not shift the meaning of nationalism if the values of this nationalism are actualized. Nationalism in Indonesia today is an attitude of nationalism in filling independence, no longer an attitude of anti-colonialism nationalism. The purpose of this study was to determine the meaning of the values of nationalism in the film Rudy Habibie. This research focuses on how to interpret the values of nationalism in the film "Rudy Habibie". This research is interesting because nationalism is an issue that is often discussed, especially in Indonesia. The things that are reviewed are always about the shift in the meaning of nationalism from time to time. The shift in nationalism is interpreted by the presence of a sign or symbol that appears in Rudy Habibie's film. This study aims to determine the meaning of the values of nationalism in Rudy Habibie's film and to find out the connotation and denotative meanings of the nationalist values implied in the film "Rudy Habibie". This study uses a semiotic approach. The researcher intends to reveal the meaning behind the signs in the object of research. The object used in this research is the Rudy Habibie film. The paradigm used in this research is the constructivism paradigm. Researchers also used Roland Barthes' semiotics method as a method for reading films. The results of Rudy Habibie's film research show several images of nationalism. First, love the homeland and are proud to be the nation and land of Indonesia, solidarity and willingness to sacrifice. Love for the homeland is interpreted through scenes containing the identity of the Indonesian nation, both in the form of language, special food, and expressions of regional culture. Second, solidarity is interpreted through scenes of mutually strengthening and helping each other between people. Third, the meaning of being willing to sacrifice in Rudy Habibie's film is placed in the scene of a character's willingness to sacrifice in terms of property and body to build the country. The image of nationalism built by Rudy Habibie's film is a simulation, some of which are taken from real reality. The film builds an image of nationalism that is shown through an attitude of love and pride in the country of Indonesia and solidarity and willingness to sacrifice. Keywords: Meaning, Semiotics, Nationalism, Rudy Habibie’s Film Negara Indonesia yang majemuk ini tidak akan terjadi pergeseran makna nasionalisme jika nilai nasionalisme ini diaktualisasikan. Nasionalisme di Indonesia saat ini merupakan sikap nasionalisme dalam mengisi kemerdekaan bukan lagi sikap nasionalisme anti kolonialisme. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pemaknaan nilai-nilai nasionalisme dalam film Rudy Habibie. Penelitian ini berfokus pada bagaimana memaknai nilai-nilai nasionalisme dalam film "Rudy Habibie". Penelitian ini menarik karena nasionalisme merupakan isu yang sering kali diulas khususnya di Indonesia. Hal yang diulas tersebut selalu mengenai pergeseran makna nasionalisme dari masa ke-masa. Pergeseran nasionalisme dimaknai dengan adanya tanda atau simbol yang muncul dalam film Rudy Habibie. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui makna atas nilai-nilai nasionalisme dalam film Rudy Habibie dan untuk mengetahui makna konotasi dan makna denotasi atas nilai-nilai nasionalisme yang tersirat dalam film "Rudy Habibie". Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan semiotika. Peneliti bermaksud mengungkapkan makna yang ada di balik tanda-tanda dalam objek penelitian. Objek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah film Rudy Habibie. Paradigma yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah paradigma kontruktivisme. Peneliti juga menggunakan metode semiotika milik Roland Barthes sebagai metode untuk membaca film. Hasil dari penelitian Film Rudy Habibie menunjukkan beberapa citra nasionalisme. Pertama, cinta tanah air dan bangga berbangsa dan bertanah air Indonesia, solidaritas, dan rela berkorban. Cinta tanah air dimaknai melalui adegan-adegan yang bermuatan identitas bangsa Indonesia, baik berupa bahasa, makanan khas, maupun ekspresi kebudayaan daerah. Kedua, solidaritas dimaknai melalui adegan-adegan saling menguatkan dan saling tolong-menolong antar manusia. Ketiga, pemaknaan rela berkorban dalam film Rudy Habibie ditempatkan pada adegan kerelaan berkorban seorang tokoh dalam hal harta dan raga untuk membangun negeri. Citra nasionalisme yang dibangun film Rudy Habibie merupakan sebuah simulasi yang sebagian di antaranya diambil dari realitas nyata. Film tersebut membangun citra nasionalisme yang ditunjukkan melalui sikap cinta dan bangga bertanah air Indonesia serta solidaritas dan rela berkorban.
