Abstract

Film is a complex linguistic text structure and visual codes that are arranged to produce special meanings. Film is not just a collection of stereotypes. Films form meaning through the arrangement of visual and verbal signs. It is this textual structure that we must examine because this is where the resulting meaning is. In the film an editor has an important role. The editor is a professional filmmaker who is responsible for constructing the story of the shots made based on the scenario and concept of directing into a complete story film. Editors are also required to have five strong senses. The point is that the editor must have creative responsibilities in carrying out his responsibilities. Understanding the storyline and making the scene so the audience come to feel the mood of the film's scene. Montage theory in film terms is a technique that edits thematic film pieces that are divided and then put into a neatly arranged series. We will use this theory as a support to explain a situation using picture symbols consisting of snippets, tones and mood which aim to produce certain meanings that can be met with topics that can be discussed. The author chose this theory to be the concept of a team that tries to discuss a beautiful story and is easily discussed by the audience in watching the drama film "11:11". Keywords: Film, Editor, dan Teori Montage. Film merupakan teks-struktur linguistik yang kompleks dan kode-kode visual yang disusun untuk memproduksi makna-makna khusus. Film bukan hanya sekedar koleksi atas gambaran atau stereotype. Film-film membentuk makna melalui susunan tanda-tanda visual dan verbal. Struktur tekstual inilah yang harus kita periksa karena disinilah makna dihasilkan. Dalam film seorang editor memiliki peran penting. Editor adalah sineas professional yang bertanggung jawab mengkonstruksi cerita secara estetis dari shot-shot yang dibuat berdasarkan skenario dan konsep penyutradaraan menjadi sebuah film cerita yang utuh. Editor juga dituntut untuk mempunyai panca indera yang kuat. Maksudnya adalah seorang editor harus mempunyai sikap kreatif dalam mengerjakan tanggung jawabnya. Mengerti dengan alur cerita dan membuat adegan sehingga penonton ikut merasakan mood dari adegan film tersebut. Teori Montage dalam istilah perfilman merupakan teknik mengedit potongan film tematik yang terpisah kemudian menggabungkannya ke dalam rangkaian yang tertata rapi. Teori ini akan kami gunakan sebagai pendukung untuk menjelaskan sebuah keadaan adegan menggunakan simbol-simbol gambar yaitu berupa Footage, nada (tone) dan suasana (mood) yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan makna tertentu yang dapat mewakili suatu permasalahan atau konflik yang sedang dibahas. Penulis memilih teori ini untuk menjadi konsep tim yang mencoba merancang sebuah cerita yang indah dan mudah dipahami oleh khalayak dalam menyaksikan Film drama “11:11”. Kata Kunci: Film, Editor, dan Teori Montage.
