Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Current Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio, Return On Assets, and Sales Growth on Financial Distress in the Retail Trade sub-sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2016-2020 period. The population in this study were 27 companies. The sample selection technique in this study used the purposive sampling method and obtained 8 companies as samples that met the criteria. Research data obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The more appropriate method used in this study is the Random Effect. The results of this study indicate that the Current Ratio variable has a positive and significant effect on Financial Distress and the Debt to Equity Ratio has a positive but not significant effect on Financial Distress, Return On Assets which has a positive and significant effect on Financial Distres, and Sales Growth has a positive but not significant effect on Financial Distress. Keywords: Financial Distress, Current Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio, Return On Asset, Sales Growth Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Current Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio, Return On Asset, dan Sales Growth terhadap Financial Distress pada sub sektor Retail Trade yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2016-2020. Populasi dalam penelitiam ini adalah 27 perusahaan. Teknik Pemilihan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling dan didapatkan 8 perusahaan sebagai sampel yang memenuhi kriteria. Data penelitian diperoleh dari Bursa Efek Indonesia. Metode yang lebih tepat digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Random Effect. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa variabel Current Ratio memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Financial Distress, Debt to Equity Ratio memiliki pengaruh positif namun tidak signifikan terhadap Financial Distress, Return On Asset yang memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Financial Distress, dan Sales Growth memiliki pengaruh positif namun tidak signifikan terhadap Financial Distress.
