Abstract

“Mengenal Wayang Kulit Yang Mendunia” Pop-Up Book is an Interactive popup book that is tailored for young readers at the age 9-12 years old, which contained immense yet concise information in order to help the young readers as the targeted audience, in building their knowledge of specific topic ranged from the history of Wayang to Wayang Kulit stage performance. The Design that is used in this book is adjusted for the young readers’ suitability, as it begins by starting from the selection of colors to selecting the appropriate illustration that will be used in visualizing, so as to obtain the information. This book also presented with various pop-up technique so that the young readers won’t feel bored and dull while reading the book. From designing the pages to the pop-up techniques that are being used in this book, all were derived from each content that has been categorized in some titles such as” Sejarah Wayang” where it explained the origin of Wayang and types of Wayang that has been existed in Indonesia; “ Pengenalan Wayang Kulit” where it explained details about Wayang Kulit and types of Wayang Kulit shapes and forms are; “Proses Pembuatan Wayang Kulit” where it explained how Wayang Kulit was created from the very beginning to its finalization and “ Pentas Pertunjukan Wayang Kulit” where an illustration of the stage performance has presented, in order to visualized how the show of Wayang Kulit commonly held, along with the descriptions about what was needed for the stage performance itself. Key word: Pop-up book, Wayang, Wayang Kulit, Illustration Buku Pop-Up “Mengenal Wayang Kulit Yang Mendunia” merupakan sebuah buku interaktif pop up yang ditujukan untuk anak-anak usia 9-12 tahun yang berisikan informasi dan pengetahuan seputar sejarah Wayang hingga pentas pertunjukan Wayang Kulit. Desain yang digunakan dalam buku ini disesuaikan untuk anak-anak usia 9-12 tahun baik dari segi pemilihan warna hingga pemilihan bentuk ilustrasi yang digunakan. Buku ini juga disajikan dengan berbagai macam jenis teknik pop up agar tidak membuat anak-anak merasa bosan. Baik perancangan halaman buku maupun teknik pop up didalam buku ini akan mengikuti masing-masing konten yang telah ditentukan dalam beberapa judul yakni “Sejarah Wayang” dimana akan dijelaskan asal mula Wayang dan beberapa jenis Wayang yang ada, “Pengenalan Wayang Kulit” dimana akan dijelaskan lebih mendalam mengenai Wayang Kulit hingga variasi bentuk Wayang Kulit yang ada di Indonesia, “Proses Pembuatan Wayang Kulit” dimana dijelaskan proses pembuatan Wayang Kulit dari awal hingga Akhir dan “Pentas Pertunjukan Wayang Kulit” dimana disajikannya ilustrasi sebagai gambaran pentas pertunjukan Wayang Kulit yang sebenarnya dilengkapi dengan deskripsi mengenai apa saja yang dibutuhkan dalam sebuah pertunjukan Wayang Kulit.
