Abstract

Film is a work of art and culture which is one of the mass communication media in the form of audio-visual which is based on the principle of cinematography recorded on celluloid tape, video tape, video disc. Films are collectively referred to as cinema. Cinema itself comes from the word kinematic or motion. In communication science, films are included in mass communication, where in the presentation there is information that is useful for the community, such as information about entertainment, education and other messages. Films are generally made with many crews and many minds, the presence of COVID-19 certainly greatly affects the production and marketing of existing films, therefore, this thesis tries to find answers to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on film production in Indonesia. The film industry plays an important role in improving the economy in Indonesia. By increasing the film industry, the state income through taxes and foreign exchange can be obtained properly. Film can also be an alternative in spreading the culture of our country to the general public. Especially with the current ease of internet accessibility which can make people able to see, watch and also disseminate whatever information they get. Based on research on the Strength element, it is stated that production houses generally have adapted to digital devices. So even though the output is not in the form of cinema films and only paid streaming, the Production Team can adapt. In the Weakness section, there are generally problems in the financial aspect. Where the paid streaming platform does not provide profit sharing that is more profitable than the profit sharing from the sale of movie tickets in theaters. In the Opportunities aspect, the pandemic has indirectly provided access to the public to watch more on paid viewing platforms due to the temporary closure of cinemas. Meanwhile, Threatness, due to pandemic policies such as efforts to limit crowds and the decline in national economic power has made production human resources leaner (reduction of employees). Film adalah karya cipta seni dan budaya yang merupakan salah satu media komunikasi massa dalam bentuk audio-visual yang dibuat berdasarkan asas sinematografi yang direkam pada pita seluloid, pita video, piringan video. Film secara kolektif sering disebut sebagai sinema. Sinema itu sendiri bersumber dari kata kinematic atau gerak. Dalam ilmu komunikasi, film termasuk dalam komunikasi massa, dimana dalam sajiannya terdapat informasi yang berguna untuk masyarakat, seperti informasi seputar hiburan, pendidikan dan pesan-pesan lainnya. Film secara umum dibuat dengan banyak kru dan banyak pikiran, adanya COVID-19 tentu sangat berpengaruh terhadap jalannya produksi pembuatan dan pemasaran film yang ada, maka dari itu, skripsi ini mencoba mencari jawaban dari dampak pandemi covid-19 terhadap produksi perfilman di Indonesia. Industri film sangat berperan penting dalam meningkatkan perekonomian di Indonesia dengan meningkatkan industri perfilman ini maka pendapatan negara lewat pajak dan devisa pun bisa diperoleh dengan baik. Film juga dapat menjadi alternatif dalam menyebarkan kebudayaan yang dimiliki negara kita kepada khalayak umum. Apalagi dengan kemudahan aksesibilitas internet saat ini yang bisa membuat orang dapat melihat, menonton dan juga menyebarluaskan apapun informasi yang mereka dapatkan. Berdasarkan penelitian pada unsur Strength menyatakan rumah produksi umumnya telah beradaptasi dengan perangkat digital. Sehingga meskipun hasil luaran tidak dalam bentuk film bioskop dan hanya streaming berbayar, Tim Produksi dapat beradaptasi. Pada bagian Weakness umumnya bermasalah pada aspek finansial. Dimana platform streaming berbayar tidak memberikan bagi hasil yg lebih prospek untung dibandingkan bagi hasil penjualan tiket film di bioskop. Pada aspek Opportunities, secara tidak langsung pandemi memberikan akses kepada publik lebih banyak menonton pada platform nonton berbayar akibat penutupan sementara bioskop. Sedangkan Threatness, akibat kebijakan pandemi seperti upaya pembatasan kerumunan dan menurunnya daya ekonomi nasional menjadikan SDM produksi lebih ramping (pengurangan pegawai). Kata Kunci : Pandemi, Ekonomi Kreatif, Film, Rumah Produksi.
