Abstract

Good warehouse management is to utilize space for storage effectively in order to increase space utility and minimize material handling costs. The condition of the electronic distributor warehouse management at PT CTP is currently not well-systemized, storage is carried out randomly without considering the fast moving, medium moving, or slow moving categories of goods and the lack of optimization of space utility in the warehouse. The purpose of this research is to arrange the placement of organized goods, to optimize the utility of warehouse space, and to minimize the distance of moving goods. With the class based storage method, the placement of goods is classified according to popularity based on the Pareto principle, namely by paying attention to the frequency level of the goods. The stages of the research are calculating the frequency of goods, calculating storage requirements, calculating utility and initial layout displacement distances, classifying goods, calculating aisle widths and designing proposed layouts A and B as a comparison. The results showed that the initial layout used a warehouse utility of 57% and the distance of moving goods was 378,213.84 m within 6 months. In the repair, the placement of goods is divided into three classes, class A with 80.6% popularity of 10 items, class B with 15% popularity of 15 items, and class C with 4.4% of 30 items. Compared to the initial layout, the layout of proposal B was chosen as the best proposal, with warehouse utility of 69% or an increase of 12% and the distance of moving goods within 6 months with a distance of 176,937 m or a decrease of 53.22%. Keywords: Warehouse, Layout, Class Based Storage, Warehouse Utility, Moving Distance Pengelolaan gudang yang baik ialah dengan memanfaaatkan ruang untuk penyimpanan secara efektif agar dapat meningkatkan utilitas ruang serta meminimalisasi biaya material handling. Kondisi pengelolaan gudang distributor elektronik di PT CTP saat ini tidak tersistem dengan baik, penyimpanan dilakukan secara acak tidak mempertimbangkan kategori fast moving, medium moving, atau slow moving pada barang serta kurangnya optimalisasi utilitas ruang pada gudang. Tujuan penelitian ini agar penataan penempatan barang terorganisir, utilitas ruang gudang lebih optimal, dan meminimalkan jarak perpindahan barang. Dengan metode class based storage, penempatan barang diklasifikasikan menurut popularity berdasarkan pada prinsip pareto yakni dengan memperhatikan tingkat frekuensi pada barang. Tahapan penelitian dengan menghitung frekuensi barang, menghitung kebutuhan tempat penyimpanan, menghitung utilitas dan jarak perpindahan tata letak awal, mengklasifikasikan barang, menghitung lebar aisle dan merancang tata letak usulan A dan B sebagai pembanding. Hasil penelitian menunjukan tata letak awal menggunakan utilitas gudang 57 % dan jarak perpindahan barang 378.213,84 m dalam kurun 6 bulan. Pada perbaikan, penempatan barang dibagi tiga kelas, kelas A dengan popularitas 80,6% dari 10 barang, kelas B dengan popularitas 15% dari 15 barang, dan kelas C dengan 4,4 % dari 30 barang. Dibandingkan dengan tata letak awal, tata letak usulan B terpilih sebagai usulan terbaik, dengan utilitas gudang sebesar 69% atau naik 12 % dan jarak perpindahan barang dalam kurun waktu 6 bulan dengan jarak 176.937 m atau turun 53,22%.
