Abstract
The quality of a product is one of the criteria that consumers consider in choosing a product, therefore the company makes continuous improvements and quality improvements in accordance with consumer desires. One of the problems encountered in the company making cans where the author works is the production of cans during the slitter process (body blank pieces). This final project research aims to reduce product defects in the slitter process. By using the Six Sigma method it is hoped that this solution can be solved. One of the tools in implementing Six Sigma is define, measure, analyze, improve and control. Based on research results obtained during production from 2017 to 2019 types of defects that often occur are defects due to scratches with a total defect number of 12,189 units (22.59%) of the total reject. The average DPMO score reached 2383 with a sigma value of 3.07. From the analysis of fishbone diagrams and FMEA obtained 3 causes of Scratches, namely cleanliness and hold down conditions, operator negligence in carrying out SOP, conditions and cleanliness of finger dogs. KEYWORDS: Six Sigma, DMAIC, Pareto Diagram, Fishbone, FMEA Kualitas suatu produk merupakan salah satu kriteria yang menjadi pertimbangan konsumen dalam memilih produk, oleh sebab itu perusahan melakukan perbaikan dan peningkatan kualitas terus menerus yang sesuai dengan keinginan konsumen. Salah satu masalah yang dihadapi di perusahan pembuatan kaleng tempat penulis bekerja adalah produksi kaleng pada saat proses slitter (potongan body blank). Penelitian tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi produk cacat pada proses slitter. Dengan menggunakan metode six sigma diharapkan dapat menyelesaikan pemecahan masalah tersebut. Salah satu tahapan dalam melaksanakan six sigma adalah pendefisian, pengukuran, analisis, perbaikan dan kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh selama produksi tahun 2017 sd 2019 jenis cacat yang sering terjadi adalah cacat karena goresan dengan jumlah cacat 12.189 unit (22,59%) dari total reject keseluruhan. Rata – rata nilai DPMO mencapai 2383 dengan nilai sigma 3,07. Dari analisa fishbone diagram dan FMEA didapat 3 penyebab goresan yaitu kebersihan dan kondisi hold down, kelalaian operator dalam menjalankan SOP, kondisi dan kebersihan finger dog.
