Abstract
Pariwisata merupakan salah satu solusi untuk merespon kebutuhan akan rekreasi dan refreshing, seperti pegunungan dengan banyak destinasi wisata didalamnya, salah satunya ialah resort. Resort di Kota Bandung sudah banyak mengangkat unsur arsitektur lokal, hal ini membuktikan bahwa resort-resort sudah mulai menampilkan desain yang tanggap terhadap iklim tropis yang ada. Namun kebanyakan resort tersebut masih sangat menggantungkan kenyamanan udara pada penggunaan teknologi AC (air conditioning). Hal ini tentunya akan membutuhkan energi yang sangat besar, padahal arsitektur tropis umumnya justru diharapkan mampu mengatasi masalah-masalah kenyamanan tersebut. Harmonisasi dengan alam sekitar dan penghawaan merupakan dua hal penting yang harus diperhatikan. Hal ini bisa diwujudkan dengan pengolahan tata ruang luar (landscape) yang baik sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip arsitektur tropis pada The Roosevelt Hotel & Resort. ABSTRACT Tourism is one solution to respond to the need for recreation and refreshing, such as mountains with many tourist destinations in it, one of which is a resort. Resorts in the city of Bandung have raised a lot of elements of local architecture, this proves that resorts have begun to display designs that are responsive to the existing tropical climate. However, most of these resorts still rely heavily on air comfort in the use of air conditioning technology. This of course will require enormous energy, whereas tropical architecture is generally expected to be able to overcome these comfort problems. Harmonization with the surrounding environment and appreciation are two important things that must be considered. This can be realized by processing good landscape according to the principles of tropical architecture at The Roosevelt Hotel & Resort.
