Abstract

The purposes of this research to describe and analyze the effect of work motivation and work ethics on employee performance, and determine which variables are most strongly affect to employees performance. The theories used are the work motivation, work ethic and employee’s performance theories. The research populations are 60 employees of Celebrity Fitness in Pondok Indah, Jakarta and the whole population sampled. This research was conducted using survey approach. Data Processing using SPSS software and analyzed with descriptive analysis. The validity of the items tested by the pearson product moment correlation, while the coefficient of reliability was tested with Cronbach alpha formula and Tests hypotheses by using simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results test of first hypothesis test shows work motivation positive and significant effect to employees’ performance in Celebrity Fitness Pondok Indah, Jakarta. Testing the second hypothesis shows work ethic positive and significant effect to employees’ performance in Celebrity Fitness Pondok Indah, Jakarta. And testing the third hypothesis shows work motivation and work ethic positive and significant effect to employee’s performance in Celebrity Fitness Pondok Indah, Jakarta. Dimension from work motivation variable that has more influence on employee performance is extrinsic factor, while the most powerful influence indicator is employee responsibilities. And dimension from work ethic variable that has more influence to employee performance is initiative and external factors. In employee performance variable the most influence is initiative. The effect of work motivation and work ethic to employee performance are 81.2%. And the strongest correlation occurred between the work ethic with the employee's performance compare to work motivation. Keywords: Work Motivation, Work Ethics and Employee Performance. Penulisan ini bertujuan menganalisis ada tidaknya pengaruh motivasi kerja dan etos kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan, serta mengetahui variabel yang paling kuat mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan.Teori-teori yang digunakan adalah teori-teori manajemen yang berkaitan dengan motivasi kerja, etos kerja, dan kinerja karyawan. Populasi penelitian adalah 60 orang karyawan Celebrity Fitness di Pondok Indah Jakarta. Seluruh populasi dijadikan sampel. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Pengolahan data menggunakan SPSS. Validitas diuji dengan korelasi product moment pearson, sedangkan koefisien reliabilitas diuji dengan rumus Alpha Cronbach. Pengujian hipotesis dengan mengunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana dan analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian uji hipotesis pertama menunjukkan motivasi kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan sedangkan pengujian Hipotesis ke dua menunjukkan etos kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Pengujian hipotesis ke tiga menunjukkan motivasi kerja dan etos kerja secara bersama-sama berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Dimensi dari variabel motivasi kerja yang lebih berpengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan adalah faktor ektrinsik, sedangkan indikator nya yang paling kuat pengaruhnya adalah indikator tanggung jawab karyawan. Sedangkan dimensi dari variabel etos kerja yang lebih berpengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan adalah dimensi inisiatif dan faktor eksternal. Dalam variabel kinerja karyawan yang paling berpengaruh adalah dimensi inisiatif. Persentase pengaruh motivasi kerja dan etos kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan sebesar 81.2 %. Korelasi paling kuat terjadi antara etos kerja dengan kinerja karyawan dibandingkan dengan motivasi kerja. Kata Kunci: Motivasi Kerja, Etos Kerja dan Kinerja Karyawan.
