Abstract
ABSTRAK Beton adalah campuran semen Portland atau semen hidrolis lainnya, agregat halus, agregat kasar, dan air, dengan atau tanpa bahan tambahan (admixture). Superplasticizer naftalena yang digunakan berasal dari destilasi tar batubara dan sedikit dari sisa minyak bumi, namun ada juga naftalena kamper. Dimana butir kamper mengandung 250-500 mg naftalena. Naftalena paling banyak dihasilkan dari destilasi tar batu bara, dan sedikit dari sisa fraksionasi minyak bumi, dengan rumus molekul (C10H8) dan berbentuk dua cincin benzena yang bersatu. Senyawa ini bersifta volatil, mudah menguap walau berbentuk padatan. Uap yang dihasilkan bersifat mudah terbakar. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan naftalena dari limbah tar batubara dengan naftalena kamper sebagai admixture beton, serta mengetahui pengaruh naftalena dari limbah tar batubara dengan naftalena kamper terhadap kelecakan beton, densitas, penyerapan air, terhadap kuat tekan beton. Diharapkan penggunaan naftalena dapat mengurangi penggunaan semen, dan mengurangi penggunaan air. Namun tidak mengurangi kekuatan pada beton sehingga dapat menekan biaya dalam pembuatan beton. Adapun variasi penggunaan naftalena kamper dan naftalena tar batubara 20%, 30%, 40 %. Kata kunci : naftalena tar batubara, naftalena kamper, kuat tekan. ABSTRACT Concrete is a mixture of Portland cement or other hydraulic cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, and water, with or without additives (admixture). Naphthalene superplasticizer used comes from distillation of coal tar and a little of the remaining oil, but there are also camphor naphthalene. Where camphor grains contain 250-500 mg of naphthalene. Naphthalene is mostly produced from distillation of coal tar, and a little from the rest of the fractionation of petroleum, by the molecular formula (C10H8) and in the form of two unified benzene rings. This compound is volatile, volatile even in the form of solids. The vapor produced is flammable. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of naphthalene from coal tar waste by camphor naphthalene as concrete admixture, and determine the effect of naphthalene from coal tar waste with camphor naphthalene on concrete toughness, density, water absorption, of concrete compressive strength. It is expected that the using of naphthalene can reduce the use of cement, and reduce water use. But it does not reduce the strength of the concrete so as to reduce costs in making concrete. The variation is in the use of naphthalene 20%, 30%, 40%. Key words: naphthalene coal tar, naphthalene camphor, compressive strength.
