Abstract

The reseach aims to know the process construction of social reality and interpersonal communication patterns are formed as a process that happens to the panhandler people with leprosy in the leprocy in the city of Tangerang. Background of the social construction theory (Berger Luckmann) and interaksionisme simbolik (Mead) and what happening when a people are being consider a leper and after recovery, which then form the concept of self , perception and feelings for lepers in communication with other people. By using phenomenological approach. The primary data obtained through indepth interviews and observation to the informant. Result, Adjustmend in with the interpretation of the family to be the basis of historical and a normative. Confident through dialogue between people, live in and solve problem together as cultural the space is a positive action to create that comfort. Habitualitation process to be done through tradition and gave bitrh to a group that received, and called the exclusive and inclusive group ( the concept of health and disease community). That‟s all the process that a gradual and patterned in communication, sharing knowledge dan experience with other lepers, emphaty and simphaty with a prospective benefactor and complementery communication with the officers from the government. Key word : construction of social reality, interaksionisme simbolik, pattern of communication, leprosy reality. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui konstruksi realitas sosial dan pola komunikasi antar pribadi masyarakat marjinal di perkotaan, khususnya yang terjadi pda pengemis penderita kusta di kota Tangerang. Berdasarkan teori konstruksi realitas sosial (Berger dan Luckmann) dan interaksionisme simbolik (Mead) yang terjadi pada seseorang divonis menderita kusta dan setelah dinyatakan sembuh dari penyakitnya, yang kemudian membentuk konsep diri, persepsi dan perasaan yang menjadi makna diri bagi penderita kusta untuk terus melakukan komunikasi dengan masyarakat lainnya. Metode penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif, menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi. Data primer diperoleh dari wawancara mendalam dan pengamatan langsung kepada para informan. Hasil penelitian diperoleh gambaran terjadi penyesuaian dengan interprestasi penderita kusta sebagai basis historis dan dasar normatifnya. Penyadaran dan keyakinan melalui dialog antar sesama penderita kusta, live in dan mencoba menyelesaikan permasalahan bersama sesama penderita kusta sebagai cultural space merupakan tindakan yang positif bagi terciptanya kenyamanan. Habitualisasi tindakan dilakukan melalui tradisi dan pelembagaan (institusionalisasi) dalam ruang budaya (cultural space) yang ada, melahirkan kelompok menerima dan menolak yang disebut dengan kelompok eksklusif dan inklusif (masyarakat sakit dan masyarakat sehat). Semua itu merupakan proses yang bertahap menjadi terpola dalam melakukan komunikasi, pola komunikasi simetri untuk berbagi pengalaman dan pengetahuan dilakukan dengan sesama penderita kusta, pola komunikasi intensif untuk mendapatkan empathy dan simpati dari para calon dermawan dan komunikasi komplementer dilakukan dengan aparat pemerintah.
