Abstract
This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of leadership and talent management on employee engagement in Directorate General of Agro-based Industry. The data used consist of primary data directly obtained from a set of questionnaire and secondary data obtained from literature research. Population of this study is 150 employees of Directorate General of Agro-based Industry, which is an Echelon 1 unit in the Ministry of Industry. After implementing convenience sampling method, a total sample of 94 employees was obtained. The method of analysis used in this study is multiple linier regression. The result indicated that simultaneously, leadership and talent management have a significantly positive effect on employee engagement. The result also showed that partially, leadership does not have significant effect on employee engagement. Meanwhile, talent management proved to has a significantly possitive effect on employee engagement. Out of three dimension of talent management, namely good company, good job, and compensation and lifestyle, good company dimension showed strongest relation with employee engagement. Keywords: leadership, talent management, employee engagement Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh kepemimpinan dan manajemen talenta terhadap employee engagement di Ditjen Industri Agro. Data yang digunakan terdiri dari data primer yang diperoleh langsung dari kuisioner dan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari studi kepustakaan. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah 150 pegawai Ditjen Industri Agro, yang merupakan salah satu unit Eselon 1 di Kementerian Perindustrian. Setelah metode convenience sampling digunakan, diperoleh sampel sebanyak 94 pegawai. Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara bersama-sama, kepemimpinan dan manajemen talenta berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap employee engagement. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial, kepemimpinan tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap employee engagement. Sementara manajemen talenta terbukti berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap employee engagement. Dari tiga dimensi manajemen talenta, yaitu perusahaan yang baik, pekerjaan yang baik, serta kompensasi dan gaya hidup, dimensi pekerjaan yang baik menunjukkan hubungan yang paling kuat dengan employee engagement.
