Abstract

The problem is raised based on the number of Thai gay series produced in Thailand and its acceptance not only in Thailand itself, but also in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the interpretation of Thai gay fan series to the Thailand gay series show. In addition to interpretation, this study is also to determine the meaning of the reality of the Thai gay series show. the approach used in qualitative research with the research method is the reception analysis from Stuart Hall. Informants in this study, there are 10 people and determined by snow ball sampling. From the discussion of the research results obtained conclusion that there are 8 Interpretations that each interpretation when combined to produce 19 categorizations and also based on The Three Hypothetical Positions 9 people fall into the category of The Negotiated Code or Position and 1 person at The Oppositional Code. Keywords: fans, gay series, reception analysis Pemasalahan yang diangkat menjadi objek penelitian adalah banyaknya series gay Thailand yang di produksi di Thailand dan penerimaannya tidak hanya di negaranya sendiri yaitu Thailand, namun juga di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui interpretasi penggemar series gay Thailand terhadap tayangan series gay Thailand tersebut. Selain interpretasi, penelitian ini juga untuk mengetahui makna realitas dari tayangan series gay Thailand. pendekatan yang digunakan menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode penelitian yaitu analisis resepsi dari Stuart Hall. Informan dalam penelitian ini ada 10 orang dan di tentukan dengan snow ball sampling Dari pembahasan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa ada 8 Interpretasi yang masing-masing interpretasi tersebut bila digabungkan menghasilkan 19 kategorisasi dan juga berdasarkan The Three Hypothetical Positions 9 orang masuk dalam kategori The Negotiated Code or Position dan 1 orang pada The Oppositional Code.
