Abstract
West Java Arts and Culture Center is one of the public spaces that can fulfill the basic activities of human relations. The need for public space will be very important because a region needs a space for them to express a work of art. On the other hand the presence of this building is considered to help the government program to preserve the local culture heritage of the ancestors. The basic concept of the design of the building Art and Culture Center is an iconic design that does not leave the traditional and characteristic of West Java, but also not forget to apply green architecture in the application of sustainable architecture that is environmentally friendly architecture. The concept of green architecture is closely related to environmental awareness, where the green architecture not only establishes architectural elements but also must be functional, aesthetic, and low cost but also must consider other dimensions of the approach to environment, sustainable concept, and also energy saving. Keywords: West Java Art and Culture Center, Green Architecture Pusat Seni dan Kebudayaan Jawa Barat merupakan salah satu ruang publik yang mampu memenuhi kegiatan dasar hubungan umat manusia. Kebutuhan masyarakat akan hadirnya ruang public sangat penting karena suatu daerah membutuhkan sebuah ruang untuk mereka mengekspresikan suatu karya seni. Disisi lain kehadiran bangunan ini dianggap dapat membantu program pemerintah untuk melestarikan kebudayaan setempat warisan nenek moyang. Dasar konsep perancangan bangunan Pusat Seni dan Kebudayaan ini adalah desain iconic yang tidak meninggalkan sisi tradisional dan ciri khas Jawa Barat, namun juga tidak lupa menerapkan arsitektur hijau dalam penerapan arsitektur yang berkelanjutan yaitu arsitektur yang ramah lingkungan. Konsep arsitektur hijau sangat erat hubungannya dengan kesadaran lingkungan, dimana arsitektur hijau tidak hanya menetapkan elemen-elemen arsitektural saja namun juga harus fungsional, estetis, dan rendah biaya tetapi juga juga harus mempertimbangkan dimensi lain yaitu pendekatan terhadap lingkungan, konsep berkelanjutan, dan hemat energi.
