Abstract

The director has responsibilities covering the creative and technical aspects of a film production. The director also has to make films with insight and creativity to direct films from the beginning of production to the completion stage. The director acts as the coordinator of creation. And as a coordinator, the director cannot work alone and is assisted by several crew members. In the documentary film will involve many people with their respective expertise who help the director. Pesindhian gendhing is a documentary film that tells the life journey of a Sinden Siter from Jogjakarta who struggles to make a living in order to survive in the middle of the Capital City of Jakarta. This research focuses on how an image editor compiles and makes a film based on a script made by a director and pictures taken by DOP. Based on the research and film making process, it can be concluded that: (1) A documentary film is a work that is based on facts that occur not to be added or exaggerated. (2) Finding information from various sources helps in offline editing. (3) Team collaboration is needed in making a film. (4) Careful planning is very important to facilitate the production process. Keywords: Documentary Films, Image Editing, The director Sutradara memiliki tanggung jawab meliputi aspek – aspek kreatif dan teknis dari sebuah produksi film. Sutradara juga harus membuat film dengan wawasan serta kreatistikkan untuk mengobrol film dari awal produksi hingga tahap penyelesaian. Sutradara berperan sebagai koordinator penciptaan. Dan sebagai kordinator, sutradara tidak dapat bekerja sendiri dan di bantu beberapa crew. Dalam film documenter akan terlibat banyak orang dengan keahlian masing – masing yang membantu sutradara. Pesindhian gendhing merupakan film documenter yang bercerita tentang perjalanan kehidupan seorang Sinden Siter yang berasal dari Jogjakarta yang berjuang mencari nafkah demi bertahan hidup di tengah Ibu Kota Jakarta. Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada bagaimana seorang penyunting gambar dalam merangkai dan membuat sebuah film berdasarkan naskah yang dibuat oleh sutradara dan gamabar yang diambil oleh DOP. Berdasarkan penelitian dan proses pembuatan film yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) Film documenter merupakan sebuah karya yang berdasarkan fakta yang terjadi tidak ditambahkan atau dilebihkan. (2) Mencari informasi dari berbagai sumber membantu dalam editing offline. (3) Dibutuhksn kerjasama tim dalam pembuatan sebuah film. (4) Perencanaan yang matang sangat penting untuk memudahkan proses produksi. Kata kunci: Film Dokumenter, Penyuntingan Gambar, Sutradara
