Abstract

Film is a media to convey messages to a wide audience through one of the mass media instruments. Film functions as a historical or cultural process of a society which is presented in the form of a living image. Snippet or scene is a form of message conveyed through a film trailer to the audience. Therefore, the researcher uses film as the research subject. This study aims to present the meaning of Controversy and Moral Messages in the trailer for the film "The Santri", so that the meaning of Controversy and Moral Messages can be found in the film and also find out how a trailer for the film The Santri can convey messages that can be applied in everyday life. The daily life of the santri which has important values. This research method uses qualitative research methods with semiotic analysis from Ferdinand De Saussure. The result of this research is that the trailer for the film "The Santri" has a scene that contains controversy and moral messages. The female and male students walk in the middle of the forest giving prayer beads and gold books, then two female students who are entering the church carrying yellow tumpeng rice will be given to the priest who is attending the service and then two female students give tumpeng rice to the pastor While saying "please accept the sign of love", the two students who brought tumpeng rice showed that a sign of love, which means that Islam really respects fellow people and does not differentiate between fellow followers of other religions. Keywords: Film, The Santri Trailer, Semiotics, Controversy, Moral Message. Film merupakan media penyampaian pesan kepada khalayak luas melalui salah satu instrument media massa. Film berfungsi sebagai sebuah proses sejarah atau proses budaya suatu masyarakat yang disajikan dalam bentuk gambar hidup. cuplikan atau scene merupakan sebuah bentuk pesan yang disampaikan lewat sebuah cuplikan trailer film kepada khalayak. Maka dari itu peneliti menggunakan film sebagai subjek penelitian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempresentasika makna Kontroversi dan Pesan Moral dalam Trailer film “The Santri”, sehingga dapat diketahui makna Kontroversi dan Pesan Moral yang terkandung dalam film tersebut dan juga mengetahui bagaimana sebuah trailer film The Santri dapat menyampaikan pesan yang dapat diaplikasikan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari Santri yang memiliki nilainilai penting. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Kualitatif dengan Analisis Semiotika dari Ferdinand De Saussure. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yaitu pada Trailer film “The Santri” ini memiliki scene yang mengandung kontroversi dan pesan moral. santri putri dan santri putra berjalan ditengah hutan memberikan tasbih dan buku berwarna emas, lalu dua orang santri putri yang sedang memasuki gereja sambil membawa nasi tumpeng berwarna kuning yang akan diberikan kepada pastur yang sedang mengikuti ibadah dan Kemudian dua orang santri putri memberikan nasi tumpeng kepada pastur sambil mengatakan “please accept the sign of love”, dari kedua santri yang membawa nasi tumpeng tersebut menunjukan bahwa pemberian nasi tumpeng tersebut bertujuan memperlihatkan sebuah tanda cinta yang berarti islam sangat menghargai sesama umat dan tidak membeda-bedakan sesama umat agama lain.
