Abstract
In a production process, raw materials is one very important factor. So it takes The object of this research is the factory in the paper industry, namely PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (IKPP), Tbk. The problems that exist in the company is often the occurrence of the purchase of raw materials that always far exceeds the usage required for one month. In this study the first thing to do is to calculate the demand forecasting for Quran Paper products by consumers, then determine how much raw material needs to be prepared based on the amount of Quran Paper product demand. Forecasting is calculated using POM - QM and Ms. software. Excel, where the forecasting method used is Moving Average method (MA), Weight Moving Average (WMA), and Exponential Smoothing (ES). Next is calculated the total cost of raw material inventory by lot sizing techniques Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Lot For Lot (LFL), Fixed Period Requirement (FPR), Fixed Order Quantity (FOQ), and Period Order Quantity (POQ). Based on the calculations that have been done, the best forecasting method that has the smallest error value is the Moving Average (MA) with an error value (MAD = 399.06, MSE = 274250, & MAPE = 0.1936). And the most optimal lot sizing technique in terms of price and quantity is FOQ with the second lowest total inventory cost after the LFL, which is Rp6,705,152. Keywords: Production process, Inventory, Raw Material, Deficit, Overstock, Forecasting. Objek dalam melaukan penelitian ini adalah pabrik di industri kertas yaitu PT. Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper (IKPP), Tbk. Permasalahan yang ada di perusahaan adalah sering terjadinya pembelian bahan baku yang selalu jauh melebihi dari pemakaian yang dibutuhkan selama satu bulan. Dalam penelitian ini hal pertama yang dilakukan adalah melakukan perhitungan peramalan permintaan terhadap produk Quran Paper oleh konsumen, lalu menentukan berapa banyak kebutuhan bahan baku yang harus disiapkan berdasarkan jumlah permintaan produk Quran Paper. Peramalan dihitung dengan menggunakan software POM – QM dan Ms. Excel, dimana metode peramalan yang digunakan adalah metode Moving Average (MA), Weight Moving Average (WMA), dan Eksponential Smoothing (ES). Selanjutnya dihitung total biaya persediaan bahan baku dengan teknik lot sizing Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Lot For Lot (LFL), Fixed Period Requirement (FPR), Fixed Order Quantity (FOQ), dan Period Order Quantity (POQ). Berdasarkan perhitungan yang telah dilakukan, metode peramalan terbaik yang memiliki nilai error terkecil adalah Moving Average (MA) dengan nilai error (MAD = 399.06, MSE = 274250, & MAPE = 0.1936 %). Dan teknik lot sizing yang paling optimal dari segi harga maupun jumlah adalah FOQ dengan total biaya persediaan terkecil kedua setelah LFL yaitu sebesar Rp6.705.152.
