Abstract

duces filter. In making the filter consist of several production lines, namely : Making Components, Pleater Paper, Element Assy, Seaming, Phosphating, Painting and Packaging. Making components consist of several items, including the filter body components, seat assy and cover elements. In making seat components, one of the process is making screw using an auto tapping machine. This study was conducted to ascertain how many auto tapping machines can make threads on seats in one minute with reject quantity and production output in tapping machines. Machines capacity in on minute (cycle time), reject quantity and production output can bee seen automatically by a PC monitor (computer) that has been based on the LabVIEW system. The LabVIEW system is used to process data which will than be displayed on a PC monitor, where the data processed is reject quantity, production output and cycle time. When an auto tapping machine performs a threaded process in one cycle, a counter progremmed in the PLC (Progrannable Logic Controller) will calculate which then sent and processed by the LabVIEW system via the modbus RS-485 converter. Modbus RS-485 serves to convert so that data from PLC can be received and processed by the LabVIEW system. PT Panata Jaya Mandiri Tbk. merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang manufaktur yang memproduksi Filter. Dalam pembuatan filter terdiri dari beberapa alur produksi, yaitu : Pembuatan Komponen, Pleater Paper, Element Assy, Seaming, Phospating, Painting dan Packing. Pembuatan komponen terdiri dari beberapa item, diantaranya adalah komponen bodi filter, seat dan element cover. Dalam pembuatan komponen seat salah satu prosesnya adalah pembuatan ulir dengan menggunakan mesin auto tapping. Perancangan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk dapat memastikan seberapa banyak mesin auto tapping dapat membuat ulir pada seat dalam satu menit berikut quantity reject serta output produksi di mesin tapping. Kapasitas mesin dalam satu menit ( cycle time ), quantity reject dan output produksi dapat terlihat secara otomatis oleh monitor PC ( komputer ) yang sudah berbasis sistem LabVIEW. Sistem LabVIEW digunakan untuk mengolah data yang kemudian akan ditampilkan di monitor PC, dimana data yang diolah berupa quantity reject, output produksi dan cycle time. Pada saat mesin auto tapping melakukan proses ulir dalam satu cycle, counter yang sudah terprogram didalam PLC ( Programmable Logic Control ) akan menghitung yang kemudian langsung dikirim dan diolah oleh sistem LabVIEW melalui converter modbus RS-485.
