Abstract

In the age of competitive industrial business, quality is one of the most engaging aspect that could maintain a company’s stability. The quality of a product also depends on the target market which means it could be changed, or even escalated in line with the improvement of the labourer and production process to fulfill or even make it beyond costumer’s expectations. Quality control is the required procedure to measure the product’s standard and specification under the company’s target. PT. Indonesia Toray Synthetics is a company that runs on textile industry. The company itself faced a problem in the significant Chip E900’s number of defects that occurred in a year of production. Those defects appeared to be over the predictions. To solve the problems that this company faced, six sigma method is used to reduce the loss of profit from the defects. The method itself is consisted few steps. The first step is to define with the help of tools SIPOC and CTQ to define the targets towards customers, the next step is to measure the value of DPU, DPO, DPMO, Yeild and the value of level sigma. The third step is to analyze the biggest defect with pareto diagram and analize the cause of defect classification with fishbone diagram. The next is to improve with evaluation towards the defects with the sums up of the biggest RPN in the table of FMEA and 5W+1H. The last step is control, wich is the improvements of the product to keep the consictency of the company’s service in the commitment of keeping the company’s quality, so they wouldn’t fell down to the same mistakes they’ve been made’s. Key Words : Six Sigma, Chip E900, DMAIC, FMEA Kualitas merupakan salah satu faktor penting bagi perusahaan untuk tetap dapat bersaing dalam persaingan industri. Kualitas suatu produk tergantung pada konsumen, oleh karena itu kualitas produk dapat berubah ataupun meningkat dengan cara meningkatkan kemampuan tenaga kerja dan proses produksi agar produk dapat memenuhi atau bahkan melebihi harapan konsumen..Pengendalian kualitas merupakan suatu proses untuk mengukur apakah suatu produk sudah memenuhi standard dan spesifikasi yang ditetapkan perusahaan tersebut. PT. Indonesia Toray Synthetics adalah perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang industri tekstile. PT. Indonesia Toray Synthetics mempunyai permasalahan pada jumlah defect yang dihasilkan dari total produksi Chip E900 dalam 1 tahun. Defect yang terjadi banyak yang melebihi target yang telah ditetapkan. Maka dari itu penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode six sigma untuk mengurangi defect yang terjadi. Dari metode six sigma tersebut terdapat tahap yang dilakukan, tahap pertama adalah define menggunakan tools SIPOC dan CTQ untuk mendefinisikan sasaran terhadap konsumen, tahap kedua measure adalah melakukan pengukuran nilai DPU, DPO, DPMO, Yeild dan nilai level sigma, tahap ketiga analyze adalah mengetahui jenis defect terbesar menggunakan diagram pareto dan menganalisis penyebab jenis defect yang terjadi menggunakan diagram fishbone, tahap keempat improve adalah memberikan usulan perbaikan terhadap defect yang terjadi dengan perhitungan nilai RPN terbesar pada table FMEA dan 5W+1H, tahap terakhir control adalah pengendalian kualitas terhadap produk agar perusahaan konsisten terhadap komitmen kualitas perusahaan sehingga permasalahan yang sama tidak terjadi lagi di masa yang akan datang.
