Abstract
Banking is one of the economic sectors that plays a very important role in Indonesia's economic development to face the era of free markets and globalization. Banks with good performance can prove that the bank is healthy, so that it has a good impact on capital investment. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Good Corporate Governance on Profitability in banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2013-2017. The analysis technique used in this study is Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. The research sample consisted of 28 public banks taken by purposive sampling technique that is sampling using certain considerations, namely by selecting each company with financial statements that include the amount of independent board of commissioners, board of directors, audit committee and institutional ownership. Data used is secondary data in the form of commercial bank financial statements for the period 2013-2017. The results show that Institutional Ownership and Independent Board of Commissioners have significant negative effect on profitability while the Audit Committee has a significant positive effect on profitability The Board of Directors not effect on profitability. Keywords: Profitability, Good Corporate Governance, Bank Perbankan merupakan salah satu sektor ekonomi yang berperan sangat penting dalam pembangunan ekonomi Indonesia untuk menghadapi era pasar bebas dan globalisasi. Bank dengan kinerja yang bagus dapat membuktikan bahwa bank tersebut sehat, sehingga berdampak baik pada investasi modal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh Good Corporate Governance terhadap Profitabilitas pada perusahaan perbankan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) periode 2013-2017. Teknik Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Analisis Regresi Linier Berganda.Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 28 bank umum yang diambil dengan dengan teknik purposive sampling yaitu pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan pertimbangan-pertimbangan tertentu yaitu dengan memilih setiap perusahaan dengan laporan tahunan yang mencantumkan jumlah dewan komisaris independen, dewan direksi, komite audit, kepemilikan institusional. Data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder berupa laporan tahunan bank umum periode 2013-2017. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kepemilikan Institusional dan Dewan Komisaris Independen berpengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap profitabilitas sementara Komite Audit berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap profitabilitas. Dewan Direksi tidak berpengaruh terhadap profitabilitas. Kata kunci :Profitabilitas, Good Corporate Governance, Bank
