Abstract

Nowadays, designer toys or art toys have developed rapidly, with various types being offered, one of them is an action figure. Designer toys themselves are works of art in the form of toys that can be collected, created by a designer or artist (art toys) and are usually produced in limited quantities. In the designer toys for action figures, there are several scales or sizes such as 1:48, 1:12, 1: 6 to 1: 4. The action figure has an articulation point so that it can be moved around in several parts, because the articulation can also pose an action figure (action) so that it looks more attractive. The material for the action figures themselves range from ABS plastic, PVC, vinyl, wood, metal, resin, and so on. All types of action figures have their own place in the hearts of action figure collectors. Usually collectors admire a fictional character or artwork created by the designer so they buy the action figure, even though there are some designers who do not tell what character is represented in the form of an action figure. Until now, the market for action figures is still dominated by foreign producers, but in terms of quality, locally made action figures can compete with competitors. The purpose of this design is to answer the needs of designer toys collectors with action figures for domestic products of comparable quality to competitors. The result of this design is a 1: 6 scale action figure with a character concept inspired by langur animals and combined with the cyberpunk theme. The selection of langur animals is used to elevate the localization of Indonesia as well as to follow the current trend, especially in terms of technology using the cyberpunk theme. Designer toys atau art toys saat ini telah berkembang pesat dengan berbagai jenis yang ditawarkan salah satu jenisnya berupa action figure (figur aksi). Designer toys sendiri merupakan karya seni dalam bentuk mainan yang dapat dikoleksi, diciptakan oleh seorang desainer atau pelaku seni (disebut art toys) dan biasanya diproduksi dalam jumlah yang terbatas. Pada designer toys jenis action figure terdapat beberapa skala atau ukuran seperti 1:48, 1:12, 1:6 sampai 1:4. Action figure tersebut memiliki titik artikulasi sehingga dapat digerak-gerakkan pada beberapa bagian, karena artikulasi itu pula action figure dapat berpose (action) sehingga terlihat lebih menarik. Material action figure sendiri bermacam-macam mulai dari plastik ABS, PVC, vinil, kayu, logam, resin, dan sebagainya. Semua jenis action figure tersebut memiliki tempat tersendiri di hati para kolektor action figure. Biasanya para kolektor mengagumi suatu karakter fiksi atau karya seni ciptaan desainer tersebut sehingga mereka membeli action figure tersebut meskipun ada beberapa desainer yang tidak menceritakan karakter apa yang direpresentasikan dalam bentuk action figure. Hingga saat ini pasar action figure masih didominasi oleh produsen luar negeri tetapi dalam hal kualitas action figure buatan lokal dapat bersaing dengan kompetitor. Tujuan dari perancangan ini adalah untuk menjawab kebutuhan kolektor designer toys jenis action figure terhadap produk dalam negeri dengan kualitas yang sebanding dengan kompetitor. Hasil perancangan ini adalah action figure skala 1:6 dengan konsep karakter yang terinspirasi dari satwa lutung dan dikombinasikan dengan tema cyberpunk. Pemilihan satwa lutung ini digunakan untuk mengangkat kelokalan Indonesia sekaligus mengikuti tren yang sedang berkembang sekarang terutama dalam hal teknologi dengan menggunakan tema cyberpunk.
