Abstract

Apron is a product that has long been known in the community. Various professions use it to carry out work. The primary function of an apron is initially as a protector against the worker's body. Likewise, the apron for barber aims to protect barber from the remnants of customers' hair. But over the times, apron also has fashion value that can be utilized for the marketing function, which is to attract the attention of customers and prospective customers. Security and professionalism suggested by the use of an apron are expected to make customers feel comfortable and will return to using the services of the barber. The main problems in this thesis are: (1) what is the best material for this apron and (2) how is the best design that can bring interesting nuance and comfort to customers. This Final Project is trying to design an apron product for barber from rustic leather material that is lightweight, strong and has an attractive classic pattern, as well as an aesthetic and ergonomic design. The results of products made and exhibited for three days show that the apron for this barber has the potential to achieve these design goals. Key words: apron, barber, barbershop, rustic leather Apron adalah sebuah produk yang sudah lama dikenal di masyarakat. Berbagai profesi menggunakannya untuk melaksanakan pekerjaan. Fungsi utama sebuah apron awalnya adalah sebagai pelindung terhadap tubuh pekerja. Demikian juga dengan apron untuk barberman yang bertujuan melindungi barberman dari sisa-sisa rambut pelanggan. Namun seiring perkembangan zaman, apron juga memiliki nilai fesyen yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk fungsi pemasaran yaitu untuk menarik perhatian pelanggan dan calon pelanggan. Keamanan, dan profesionalitas yang dikesankan dengan penggunaan apron diharapkan dapat membuat pelanggan merasa nyaman dan akan kembali menggunakan jasa barberman tersebut. Permasalahan dalam tugas akhir ini adalah, apa material yang terbaik untuk apron ini dan bagaimana disain yang terbaik yang bisa menghadirkan nuansa menarik dan naman buat pelanggan. Tugas Akhir ini mencoba merancang sebuah produk apron untuk barberman dari material rustic leather yang ringan, kuat dan bercorak klasik yang menarik, dan juga disain yang estetik dan ergonomis. Hasil produk yang dibuat dan dipamerkan selama tiga hari menunjukkan bahwa apron untuk barberman ini memiliki potensi untuk berfungsi sesuai dengan yang diharapkan Kata kunci : apron, barber, barbershop, rustic leather
