Abstract

Editing is a post-production activity carried out after the production process. Editing is done after all material or results of the shoot are owned by the image editor. Image editors themselves try to provide a visual diversity of films through the selection of shots, arrangements and timings as well as trying to adjust the image needs according to the script. The main task of image editors is to create and maintain continuity with every scene or shot. Transfers from shot to shot must be proper and smooth. An image editor decides how long the action will be presented to the audience. The charm of Gandrung dance is a documentary that tells the story of a traditional dance that used to be prohibited from performing the dance but now it is a pride even made as a tourism icon in the Banyuwangi fog. This research focuses on how an image editor or editor in compiling and making a film based on a script made by the Director and pictures taken by the Cameraman. Based on the research and film making process, it can be concluded that: (1) A documentary film is a work that is based on facts that occur not to be added or exaggerated. (2) Finding information from various sources helps in offline editing (3) Team collaboration is needed in making a film. (4) Careful planning is very important to facilitate the production process. Keywords: Documentary Films, Enchantment of Gandrung Dance Editing adalah sebuah kegiatan paska produksi yang dilakukan setelah proses produksi. Editing dilakukan setelah seluruh materi atau hasil shoot dimiliki oleh penyunting gambar. Penyunting gambar sendiri berusaha memberikan keanekaragaman visual film melalui pemilihan shot, aransemen dan timing serta berusaha menyesuaikan kebutuhan gambar sesuai naskah. Tugas Utama penyunting gambar adalah menciptakan dan menjaga kesinambungan setiap pemindahan adegan atau shot. Perpindahan dari shot ke shot yang lain harus layak dan halus (smooth). Seorang penyunting gambar memutuskan berapa lama waktu aksi akan dipresentasikan pada penonton. Pesona Tari Gandrung merupakan film dokumenter yang bercerita tentang sebuah kesenian tari tradisional yang dulunya banyaknya larangan untuk melakukan tarian tersebut namun saat ini malah menjadi sebuah kebanggaan bahkan di jadikan icon pariwisata di kabutapen Banyuwangi. Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada bagaimana seorang penyunting gambar atau editor dalam merangkai dan membuat sebuah film berdasarkan naskah yang dibuat oleh Sutradara dan gambar yang diambil oleh Juru Kamera. Berdasarkan penelitian dan proses pembuatan film yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) Film dokumenter merupakan sebuah karya yang berdasarkan fakta yang terjadi tidak ditambahkan atau dilebihkan. (2) Mencari informasi dari berbagai sumber membantu dalam editing offline (3) Dibutuhkan kerjasama tim dalam pembuatan sebuah film. (4) Perencanaan yang matang sangat penting untuk memudahkan proses produksi. Kata Kunci : Film Dokumenter, Pesona Tari Gandrung
