Abstract
Nowadays coal power plants are the main source of electricity in the world and most growth in Asia. In Indonesia, coal power plants dominate the total power generation capacity. Coal handling equipment in the coal power plants is using a belt conveyor system to transporting coal from ship unloader until coal bunker, and this belt conveyor remains some problems as fugitive material and its covers carryback, spillage and dust. The aim of this study is to increase productivity by analysis of fugitive material in belt conveyor using RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) and SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modeling – Partial Least Square) when transporting coal in the coal power plant. This study was taken at 4 units of the coal power plant in Indonesia consist of 3x330MW-West Java, 2x315-East Java, 2x110MW-Riau, and 2x15MW-Banten. The existing condition of fugitive material was 4% of total material transported at coal power plant 3x330 MW- West Java. However, by RCFA method using tools fishbone diagram and Why- why analysis also FMEA for improvement; it is aligned with statistical analysis using SEM-PLS to finding the root cause failure of the belt conveyor. And after the improvement, productivity increased up to 2.7% and the fugitive material was decreased to 1.3 %. The result was showed that this study has a positive impact on the coal power plant to be cleaner and more productive. PLTU batubara saat ini merupakan sumber utama listrik dunia dan paling banyak berkembang di Asia. Di Indonesia, pembangkit listrik tenaga batubara mendominasi total kapasitas pembangkit. Peralatan penanganan batubara di pembangkit listrik tenaga batubara menggunakan sistem belt conveyor untuk mengangkut batubara dari bongkar muat kapal hingga ke bunker batubara, dan belt conveyor ini masih mempunyai banyak masalah fugitive material yang terdiri dari carryback, spillage dan dust. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas melalui analisis fugitive material pada belt conveyor menggunakan RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) dan SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square) pada saat pengangkutan batubara di PLTU. Studi ini dilakukan pada 4 unit pembangkit listrik tenaga batubara di Indonesia yaitu PLTU 3x330MW-Jawa Barat, PLTU 2x315-Jawa Timur, PLTU 2x110MW- Riau, dan PLTU 2x15MW-Banten. Kondisi eksisting fugitive material adalah 4% dari total material yang diangkut di PLTU Batubara 3x330 MW-Jawa Barat. Namun dengan metode RCFA menggunakan tools fishbone diagram dan Why- why Analysis serta FMEA untuk improvementnya; Hal ini sejalan dengan analisis statistik menggunakan SEM-PLS untuk menemukan akar penyebab kegagalan belt conveyor. Dan setelah perbaikan, produktivitas meningkat menjadi 2,7% dan fugitive material menurun menjadi 1,3%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penelitian ini berdampak positif pada PLTU batubara menjadi lebih bersih dan lebih produktif.
