Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of profitability, dividend policy, and company growth on income smoothing. The population in this study is the consumption industry manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2014-2017. While the sample chosen was 20 companies. The sample was selected through a purposive sampling method. The analysis technique in this study used logistic regression analysis. Evaluation results show that the profitability and growth variables of the company do not affect income smoothing. While the dividend policy variable affects income smoothing. Keywords: rofitability, dividend policy, company growth, and income smoothing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh profitabilitas, kebijakan dividen, dan pertumbuhan perusahaan terhadap perataan laba. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan manufaktur sektor industri barang konsumsi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2014- 2017. Sedangkan yang terpilih menjadi sampel sebanyak 20 perusahaan. Sampel dipilih melalui metode purposive sampling. Teknik analisis pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi logistik. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa variabel profitabilitas dan pertumbuhan perusahaan tidak mempengaruhi perataan laba. Sementara variabel kebijakan dividen berpengaruh terhadap perataan laba. Kata Kunci: profitabilitas, kebijakan deviden, pertumbuhan perusahaan, dan perataan laba.
