Abstract
PT. XYZ is a company manufacturing in automotive components, producing various types of motorized vehicles. One product that is done by mufflers. Type X muffler products have been mass produced, while type Y muffler products are still in the new project phase. There are several similarities between the two types of mufflers. One of the same components is a stay cover. Products are done through 4 dies stamping processes with 4 press machines and 4 operators. The process is blanking, forming, separating and flanging. Then the new project will be invested in new dies. Use progressive dies stamping using 1 press machine and 1 operator. This decision was taken with the aim of improving process technology and quality and making product prices more competitive so that it would maximize the profits obtained by the company. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility analysis of making new dies in terms of technology and financial aspects. The results showed that new dies investments can reduce the number of operators, processing time and eliminate work in process. Financially feasible to run. Analysis of investment also shows good results. Keywords : staycover, stamping, investation PT. XYZ adalah sebuah perusahaan manufaktur di bidang komponen otomotif, memproduksi berbagai jenis komponen kendaraan bermotor. Salah satu produk yang dikerjakan muffler. Produk muffler tipe X sudah diproduksi secara masal, sedangkan produk muffler tipe Y masih dalam fase new project. Terdapat beberapa kemiripan antara kedua tipe muffler tersebut. Salah satu komponen yang sama adalah stay cover. Produk dikerjakan melalui 4 proses dies stamping dengan 4 mesin press dan 4 orang operator. Prosesnya yaitu blanking, forming, separating dan flanging. Lalu pada new project tersebut akan dilakukan investasi dies baru. Menggunakan dies stamping progressive menggunakan 1 mesin press dan 1 operator saja. Keputusan ini diambil dengan tujuan peningkatan teknologi proses dan kualitas serta menjadikan harga produk semakin kompetitif sehingga akan memaksimalkan profit yang diperoleh oleh perusahaan. Tujuan dari Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui analisa kelayakan pembuatan dies baru ditinjau dari aspek teknologi dan aspek finansial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan investasi dies baru dapat mengurangi jumlah operator, waktu proses dan menghilangkan work in process. Dari segi finansial layak untuk dijalankan. Secara analisa investasi juga menunjukkan hasil yang baik. Kata Kunci: staycover, stamping, investasi
