Abstract

A Disc Jockey can easily construct himself well by often referring to a particular group in society, which has the same characteristics, as a factor that distinguishes it from other groups. A disc jockey can reconstruct their identity, revealing and even exploring their feelings through a music, how a DiscJockey when they run their profession, and how when they socialize with the community in general. Even so, the identity of a Disc Jockey is not always positive in the eyes of the surrounding community, there are many negative views about the profession of a Disc Jockey that is always identified with free struggle, drinking - alcohol, drugs and free sex. For this reason, the phenomenon of a disc jockey is very interesting to study. This research focuses more on how the Disc Jockey's identity building is constructed in a diskorama community in Serang City, Banten. Then the purpose of this study was to answer the research focus, which is knowing how to construct themselves from a person who is a Disc Jockey in Serang Banten, which includes the background of communication with family, fellow members of the Disc Jockey Community, and the environment around them. This study uses a qualitative approach with the Phenomenology Disc Jockey Study Method in the Community "Diskorama. Data collection techniques are carried out by in-depth interviews with informants or indept interviews, which are conducted directly with related parties. The results showed that. community Disc Jockey Diskorama is a place for young people especially in Serang City to work through a beautiful music. The future orientation means that they hope to contribute to the popularization of Disc Jockey music art, meaning that they hope that the public does not always have to identify Disc Jockey with negative things, such as Free Sex, Nightlife, Liquor and Drugs. . Keywords : Social Construction, Self Identity, Disc Jockey Communit Seorang Disc Jockey dapat dengan mudah melakukan konstruksi diri baik dengan eseringkali merujuk pada kelompok tertentu dalam masyarakat, yang mempunyai karakteristik sama, sebagai faktor yang membedakannya dengan kelompok lain. Seorang disc jockey dapat merekonstruksi identitas diri, mengungkapkan bahkan mengeksplor perasaan mereka melalui sebuah alunan musik, bagaimana seorang DiscJockey pada saat mereka menjalankan profesi nya,danbagaimana pada saat mereka bersosialisasi dengan masyarakat pada umumnya. Walaupun begitu identitas seorang Disc Jockey tidaklah selamanya positif di mata Masyarakat sekitar, banyak pandangan negatif masyarakat tentang profesi seorang Disc Jockey yang selalu saja diidentikan dengan pergulan bebas, minum – minuman keras, narkoba dan free seks. Untuk itulah fenomena seorang disc jockey sangat menarik untuk diteliti. Penelitian ini lebih memfokuskan pada bagaimana Konstruksi identitas diri Disc Jockey pada komunitas diskorama di Kota Serang Banten. Kemudian tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjawab fokus penelitian, yaitu mengetahui bagaimana Konstruksi diri dari seorang yang berprofesi sebagai Disc Jockey di Kota Serang Banten, yang meliputi latar belakang komunikasi dengan keluarga, sesama anggota Komunitas Disc Jockey, dan lingkungan sekitar mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan Metode penelitian studi Fenomenologi Disc Jockey Pada Komunitas “Diskorama, Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam terhadap narasumber atau indept interview yaitu dilakukan tanya jawab secara langsung dengan pihak terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa. komunitas Disc Jockey Diskorama adalah tempat bagi anak-anak muda terutama di Kota Serang dalam berkarya melalui sebuah music yang indah. Orientasi masa yang akan datang memiliki arti bahwa mereka berharap dapat memberi kontribusi untuk memasyarakatkan seni music Disc Jockey, artinya, mereka berharap bahwa masyarakat tidak harus selalu mengidentikkan Disc Jockey dengan hal-hal yang bersifat negative, seperti Sex Bebas, Dunia Malam, Minuman Keras dan Narkoba.
