Abstract
In adulthood, adults goes through the developmental stage of life with a partner, fostering a family and being as productive individuals as wives, parents, and workers. In general, middle-aged unmarried women tend to be considered as negative because in middle-aged adults individuals tend to be more sensitive to the environment who questionnesabout their unmarried status, feeling lonely because they do not have a partner and other negative emotions. This study aims to find out how psychological well-being in middle-aged adult unmarried women to different professions. Qualitative methodology with descriptive research used to describe psychological well-being through interviews and non-participatory observation to the three subjects, the criteria of the subjects in this study were middle-aged adult unmarried women and currently working. The results showed that the description of psychological well-being in the subject of the study was self-acceptance, how to overcome conflict, the response of the subject when other people questioned about their status and wish to get a partner. In the three subjects of this study had a single type difference, CH subjects belonged to singles stable involuntary single type, SM belonged to the temporary single voluntary single type and SV was classified as involuntary single singular type. Factors that influence psychological well-being in the subject of this research are spirituality, social support and type of work of each subject. Keywords:Psychological Well-Being, Middle Age Adult, Single, Type of working Di usia dewasa madya memasuki tahapan perkembangan hidup bersama pasangan, membina keluarga dan berperan sebagai individu yang produktif sebagaiistri, orangtua, dan sebagai pekerja. Pada umumnya wanita usia dewasa madya yang belum menikah cenderung dipandang negatif, hal ini karena di usia dewasa madya individu cenderung lebih sensitif terhadap lingkungan yang membertanyakan mengenai statusnya yang belum menikah, merasa kesepian kerena tidak memiliki pasangan dan emosi negatif lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana gambaran psychological well-being pada wanita dewasa madya yang belum menikah dengan profesi yang berbeda.Metodologi kualitatif dengan penelitiandeskriptif yang digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran psychological well-beingmelalui wawancara dan observasi non partisipatif kepada ketiga orang subjek, kriteria subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah wanita dewasa madya yang belum menikah dan aktif bekerja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gambaranpsychologicalwell-being pada subjek penelitian yaitu penerimaan diri, caramengatasi konflik, respon subjek ketika orang lain mempertanyakan mengenai statusnya dan harapan untuk mendapatkan pasangan. Pada ketiga subjek penelitian ini memiliki perbedaan tipe lajang, subjek CH tergolong pada tipe lajang involuntary stable singles, SM tergolong pada tipe lajang voluntary temporary singledan SV tergolong pada tipe lajang involuntary temporary single. Faktor yang mempengaruhi psychological well-being pada subjek penelitian ini ialah spiritualitas, dukungan sosial dan pekerjaan masing-masing subjek.
