Abstract

There are two polar principles toys used in the puzzle that is the rule and freeplay. The principle of this toy a different kind of design is trying to explore the principles of both to be made in one toy to be optimal if used. By providing the learning therein also to support education in the form of formal preparation. This Puzzle toys her approach with the formal learning which will train the developmental aspects of children, by making the consideration of design through the theory of ability of the children, the theory aspect of child development, comfort, and safety for children. The result of the creation of this work: (1) Toy is designed with 2 toy rule principle and freeplay. The rule was applied in the form of a formal letter of education with the help of a card to play it, freeplay applied with a child can make appropriate forms of creativity; (2) this Puzzle using the Velcro connection system which will be a lot of possibilities and lots of sides explore. From the results of this puzzle, the product obtained that both poles of this principle can still be explored, that every tendency will result in varied products. Keywords: puzzle, rule, freeplay, education Ada dua kutub prinsip mainan yang digunakan dalam puzzle yaitu rule dan freeplay. Prinsip mainan ini yang berbeda jenisnya perancangan ini berusaha untuk mengeksplorasi dari kedua prinsip tersebut untuk dijadikan dalam satu mainan agar lebih optimal jika digunakan. Dengan memberikan pula pembelajaran didalamnya untuk menunjang persiapan edukasi dalam bentuk formal. Mainan Puzzle ini pendekatannya dengan pembelajaran formal yang akan melatih aspek perkembangan anak, dengan membuat pertimbangan desain melalui teori kemampuan anak, teori aspek perkembangan anak, kenyamanan dan keamanan untuk anak. Hasil dari penciptaan karya ini: (1) Mainan ini dirancang dengan 2 prinsip mainan rule dan freeplay. Rule diaplikasikan dalam bentuk edukasi formal huruf dengan bantuan kartu untuk memainkannya, freeplay diaplikasikan dengan anak dapat membuat bentuk sesuai kreativitasnya; (2) Puzzle ini menggunakan sistem sambungan velcro yang dimana akan banyak kemungkinan yang dihasilkan dan banyak sisi yang tereksplor. Dari hasil produk puzzle ini didapatkan bahwa kedua kutub prinsip ini masih dapat dieksplorasi, yang setiap kecenderungannya akan menghasilkan produk yang bervariasi.
