Abstract
The cultural center in a provincial capital is a place that is expected to represent identity or character, west java has noble values that have been inherent since the good past which are reflected formally and informally in people’s lives. Local concepts in the sundaneses tradition, such as silihasah, silihasuh, silihasih, are important foundations in developing the ideas behind them. Meanwhile the social point of view of the cultural center is expected to be able to accommodate the interaction activities of urban communities with various cultural backgrounds so that creativity arises there. Thus, the creativity of the community can be channeled through activities that can increase the economic value of the city on an ongoing basis. WJACC can also be an important means and trigger to support the development related to cotemporary culture in indonesia that is international in scale, and has the aim to accommodate all activities both in the form of community creativity in the form of cultural arts and activities in the form of cultural arts and activites that are traditional or contemporary. Key word : cultural center, west java, wjacc Pusat kebudayaan di dalam suatu ibu kota provinsi merupakan tempat yang diharapkan dapat merepresentasikan identitas atau karakter. Jawa Barat memiliki nilai-nilai luhur yang telah melekat sejak masa lalu baik yang tercermin secara formal maupun informal dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Jawa Barat juga merupakan provinsi yang memiliki pluralitas yang kompleks. Konsep-konsep local dalam tradisi Sunda, seperti silihasah, silihasuh, silihasih merupakan landasan penting dalam mengembangkan gagasan yang melatarbelakanginya. Sementara dari sudut pandang social Pusat Kebudayaan diharapkan mampu mewadahi aktifitas interaksi masyarakat kota dengan berbagai latar belakang budaya sehingga kreativitas muncul di sana. Dengan demikian kreativitas masyarakat dapat tersalurkan melalui kegiatan-kegiatan yang dapat meningkatkan nilai ekonomi kota secara berkesinambungan. WJACC dapat juga menjadi sarana penting dan trigger untuk mendukung pengembangan yang berkaitan dengan budaya kontemporer di Indonesia yang berskala Internasional, dan memiliki tujuan untuk mewadahi segala kegiatan baik itu berupa kreativitas masyarakat berupa seni budaya dan kegiatan yang bersifat tradisional maupun kontemporer.
